Too spread out. Those things only work fiscally if they are filled to near capacity. Otherwise, they're a waste. Anyway... back to Laich... I wonder how many other players would have stopped after losing a game 7 and whilst wearing a suit.

You're thinking of places where there is actual traffic. Out here (unless you're in a city) there is very little traffic. The big hazard is bad weather. Driving starting at age 14 gives parents 4 years of deciding when their kids can and can't drive. They get 4 years experience in good weather and good driving conditions before they are forced to drive in blizzards and ice storms on bad roads. Things don't shut down out here. If you're an adult, you have to drive no matter the weather. There is no option. Experience driving is crucial.

In the Dakotas, 14 is the age where we get our licenses. You have to learn to change a tire by the time you are 14. If you get a flat out here, you are just plain stuck. You learn or you don't drive. 14 is plenty old enough to do it. Like I said, though, there might have been a reason that they couldn't change it themselves, and it was a great thing that he did it for them.

Very cool that he did that. It's so easy to drive by. If it had been me, I'd have seen a 14-year-old and figured that if they were too lazy to do it themselves that they didn't deserve help. Of course, there might be a reason that they can't do it. They might have some sort of illness/disability that I didn't know about. Still, I probably wouldn't stop if I saw 2 people. Also impressive is that he did it in a suit. Good story!

I'm on your list above, but I posted in the other thread. I noticed that others are also on your list and had posted there. I'll re-post since I see my name. SJS/DET:4-3 CHI/VAN:4-2 PIT/MTL:4-1 BOS/PHI:4-3

Chinese. Dying for some now that you mention it. Keep your maiden name or change it upon marriage?

I've been to Oregon and Washington. On vacation. In 1984. The person below me doesn't get the hair spray thing either.

That depends on where it is slightly too small. Jeff Foxworthy had an interesting quote: If your butt looks like 2 raccoons fighting in a bag of seed corn, say no to spandex. Likewise with the dress. If it makes you look bad- either fat or slutty or anything like that- or if there is a possibility that you might end up splitting a seam and spilling out of it, or if you won't be able to enjoy yourself due to its constriction, go with the new one. If you do go with the old one, bring duct tape in case you rip out. Heck, bring duct tape anyway. You never know when you might need it. Pajamas, nightgown/shirt, sweats, or nothing?

This, and I also worry that there will be an underlying "it's the Sharks- second round chokers" mentality. I'm sure the veteran players and coaching staff will handle any outward signs of this, but I'm worried about it having an effect on the inner workings of the mind. You know, the part of the brain that is hungry for something, but you have no idea what so you end up with pickles, fishsticks, and scrambled eggs for supper.

I'm guessing you go off on the same ones I hate. You know, the "f*** these guys their suking 2nitethey dont no how 2 play hocky i hate this teem they suk their down buy a goal and im poutin". Yeah, I hate them too. I was referring to the type who post, "It's the second game of a back to back, and (Insert Player) has looked like his (Insert Body Part) is really bothering him. The (Insert Opposing Team) are having a great run now that (Insert Star Player) is back and (Insert Goalie) is really hot since he came back from (Insert Malady). I really doubt that (Insert Wings Star) will be 100% after going into the boards (Insert Body Part)-first. It will be a tough game, and I don't know if the schedule we've had lately plus all of our injuries will add up to a Wings victory." When those people get bashed, that just ticks me off. Hey, it's a board for opinions. Some opinions are stupid. Some are not. I have no problem with people who disagree, but geesh, if someone says, "I hope the Wings win, but I have a bad feeling that they won't." that's not grounds for negativity.

As one who lives near an airport, I understand why they have this rule. As Stormboy said, $2500 is nothing. If you own a plane as a private citizen, you can afford it. This is just to keep people from doing it all the time. I was wondering if the Wings could have just taken off in the morning, but had they lost, they'd have been on the plane back to Detroit. Fargo sold out its hotel rooms when the Eagles played here. Can you imagine if the Wings would have had to be put up in separate hotels, and four guys to a room due to lack of space? I'd hate to be their travel agent. Yeah, I know SJ is a big city. Civilization and all that. Wouldn't happen there.

I'm thinking that I guessed poorly on my pick for Stanley Cup Champions for this year. I picked the Caps.

Wow. I just went out and bought some soda to settle my tummy and I thought that an ice cream samwich would be really good. Yes, I have had ice cream today. The person below me has made homemade applesauce.

Manicure- my feet are too ticklish. Slovakia or Slovenia?

Nope. I kill batteries. If I get a watch it dies within a week except for once I had a very thick leather band and it lasted for a couple of months. I also forget to wind the other kind. The person below me is wearing jewelry right now.

Soft serve unless I'm in the mood for an unusual flavour. Canucks or Blackhawks?

Octomentary. Great word.

For some reason the Wings tend to do poorly on Sunday afternoons. Come to think of it, so do the Lions...

What is insanely irritating is that one might have actual reason to fear that a particular team MIGHT lose a particular game, but if that team happens to be the Red Wings, and if one expresses the fear that the team might lose, one is minused and degraded and accused of being a troll or not a real fan. Of course, once one person is called out and dragged through the gutter, who would dare to express themself? Nice for a "discussion" board.

I was at work, but had I seen it, I would have enjoyed it. The person below me gets spooked easily by reading or watching shows about the paranormal.
