Count me on the opposite side. I'd much rather they made every attempt to watch their mouths during press conferences. During a game, it's out there. Tempers and emotions run high, and things are said in the heat of the moment. There's just no sense in trying to control your mouth and your stick at the same time. One has to lose, so it might as well be your mouth. Sure, some of it gets picked up inadvertently, and it's kind of funny when it does. On the other hand, press conferences are more formal occasions. They are business events. They are one of those times when you are supposed to act like a professional. You have time to think about what comes out of your mouth before you say it. Any reasonable person can put together a sentence without foul language. I don't think the players should be fined if they slip- it happens. I just think they should act as any one of us would be expected to do if we were making a presentation in our place of work. If I swear at customers, I'm out of a job. If I cuss at my boss, I'm fired, or at least in big trouble. With my co-workers, it's a different story. We can relax and talk like average everyday people talk, naughty words included. The same goes for hockey players. On the ice or in the locker room- fine. Time and place, people. Public interviews aren't it.

In most Babcock interviews I have seen, he refers to Nik as "Junior" so as not to mix him up with Nick. If we were to get a Junior Kronwall, what would he call him? Seriously, Staffan has been waived so many times that I forget what team he's on. As much as we want to ditch Lebda and/or Meech, adding Staffan would only push Janik towards waivers as the team would not likely put both Meech and Lebda on waivers to keep room for Janik and the Lesser Kronwall. Not to mention that it would suck for Staffan. Both my sisters have PhD's and I work in a sewer pipe factory. I know what it's like to be in the company of greater siblings. People have unrealistic expectations of you. It would be fun to have Kron and Kronner, but that's where the upside ends.

If I recall correctly, there were also issues with there being 3 days of consecutive Yanni concerts at the Mellon. Nothing says confidence in your team to make the finals like scheduling Yanni concerts.

Assuming that both goalies are playing well in April, I would give Oz the nod this year. Jimmy has exceeded my expectations, and if he keeps this up, I am thrilled to have him as my goalie of the future. Ozzie has 2 post-seasons left here on this contract. We have no idea what he will do after that. Assuming that we will make the playoffs, I'd give it to Ozzie this year for sure. Jimmy has experienced post-season play from the press box. He has been in the locker room, but not on the bench. I think that by having him as the back-up this year, he will gain valuable insight and experience on the whole playoff picture. In the unlikely event that Ozzie fails (yeah, I'm an Ozzie slappie- sue me), putting Jimmy in to replace him is better than throwing Jimmy in at the beginning. If they are already losing, and Jimmy wins, it will be a great boost for him; but if Jimmy loses, it's not as much of a blow since they were losing when he went in. As for the next year, and any years that follow if Ozzie re-signs, let them play themselves out.

I can't speak for the OP, but I understood the question to mean, "What pic makes you think of the Wings?" or, conversely, "When you think of the Wings, what pic comes to mind?" Sorry if I misunderstood, but that's what I was going with. Rivalred's gets my vote for the best so far.
