Abrakadabrakader LaVerne or Shirley?

Unless my script is wrong, this is where I pull out my condom analogy: In terms of prevention, enforcers are like condoms. You can use a condom 82 times in a year (not the same one with the condoms, of course), and you have no idea what it prevented. You just know that the fact that you are wearing one means that your chances are much more in your favour. You feel safer with one. Maybe nothing would have happened, but you don't know how many times something bad was prevented, so you keep using one. Like condoms, enforcers don't prevent everything, and they can't undo the bad things that happen, but when is the last time a condom went out and beat up the guy who gave you gonorrhea? You're welcome.

I'm wondering about "assembling" the details. How many ways can they find to fit them together?
-
I DO NOT! Mostly. The person below me is hungry for something with pasta.

I remember hearing a story about how Barry Sanders was pulled over for speeding. The cop looked at his license and asked if he was "Barry Sanders". He replied, "well, my name is Barry Sanders." One of his teammates was with him and scolded him for taking the ticket and paying it. He told Sanders he could have gotten off since he was a famous player. Sanders didn't because he didn't think it was right to use his fame for that. He paid the ticket because it was the right thing to do. Lots of people could take a lesson from this.

At 5:00 in the morning? I'd put money on it. Serious question, though: Since it's the off-season, what (if anything) does the league actually do in cases like this?

I just put everyone on ignore. Granted, it's a mental ignore, but it works well. I just don't read the posts that make me go "aargh", "ugh", or "forpity'ssakeisthispersonforreal?" -unless there's some witty repartee going, then I grab the popcorn. Anyway, grinders and enforcers are not the same thing, although one can certainly be both. I like to see two things in a player: 1) that he know his role and do his best at it, and 2) that he also work on other areas of his game to improve them. IOW, if an enforcer is a good enforcer and can work on his shot to help put in a goal here and there, then he's good in my book. If a sniper can be a good sniper, and also work on his defensive game, than he's better than if he's just a sniper. Players like Datsyuk and Zetterberg are twice as valuable to the team because they do this with their defensive play. Mac (in his prime) did it as well being a good enforcer and putting in goals. What I want to see is a team that is not only well-rounded as a whole, with all of the necessary roles filled, but also one in which each member strives to improve all aspects of his game to at least some degree. So, yeah, I want to see a grinder and an enforcer, but I want to see good ones who can play well for the purpose of icing a well-rounded team. At this point in the season, it's not a question of whom we want, it's a question of whom we can afford and who is left. If we are trying to fill spots with $500k guys, then we may have to fill them with role players who are lacking in other areas. So at this point, just to fill the roster, I would settle for someone who is just a good grinder. If he can kick someone's butt, that's icing on the cake. If he can score, that's the little candies that spell out words that we all buy so we can eat the leftovers when no one is looking.

Let's see... Car accident: check. Running into a table: check. Wiping out on a moped: check. Replacing a canister: check. Nope, no hockey. The person below me prefers their broccoli cooked with cheese sauce.

Shoreline likes to stir things up. It keeps things interesting. Consider him your summer entertainment. Not as great as fireworks; better than chiggars.
-
Just charge him with the usual. Oh, wait...

Oh, Shazbaat. I have never played hockey and I want a grinder, but now I'm not sure if I can post in this thread to say that I would like to see Bell get an invite to camp. I don't want to see him signed without a good look-see (by Holland and Babcock, who have played hockey), but I do think that he might be worth a shot.

Read. I get distracted easily, and with a book I can always go back and catch up on what I gapped on. Pencil or pen?

Noon. I'm usually asleep. candles or flashlight?

Lids: Will probably stay. Draper: MUST stay or we have to keep his salary on the cap. No sense losing that kind of potential income if we can't put a body in the spot it takes up. He still has something to offer, so he stays. Malts: Home to help Wendy with the twins. Homer: Unless last season was bad due to injuries, and he can come back and play like he has in the years before, I think he's going to hang it up. I just hope they go out as Cup champs. They all have 4 rings as of now, and that's a great accomplishment, but going out with the Cup in your hands as you make your last skate has to be special.

With Lilja's shot-blocking, he is irreplacable. To whom can we turn if Oz and Howard are both injured in the same game? Lilja, that's who. Ericsson has a great deal of promise. I'm very excited about having him here on a regular basis, but I'd like to see both him and Lils. If anything, E just knocks the rest down a notch on the depth chart. (Edit for bad grammar.) (Actually, now that I think about it, it was an edit against bad grammar. The bad grammar was already there.)

O-kaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay....... The person below me has been back-stabbed recently.

Bunny, honey. Coke or Pepsi?

I'll take comedies. They tend to be funnier. I'll leave the Zune/iPod thing for someone who actually understands that stuff. Autumn leaves or the Maple Leafs?
-
I did, but it went away, thank goodness. The person below me can sleep for more than 4 hours without waking up.

Yeah. The hamster crisis see here if interested. The person below me trusts some animals more than most humans.

I'll go with the Sartre. I gave up do bes years ago. Earnest or Julio?

CMU. (I have no idea since I'm not from MI, but a very good friend of mine here in Fargo is a CMU alum.) Tambourines or cymbals?
-
Not sure what swimmers' itch is, but I don't like things clinging to my body and sucking the blood out of it. Carpet or tiles?

Already did. Don't wait on the rest of the world. Toss a coin if need be. The person below me thinks Natalie is a daemonette in disguise.

That was my first thought! Maybe they're going to have one of those reality shows where they hire a bunch of people and then see who is the weakest link and fire them at each home game. Fans get to vote. This does make me happy with what we've got going on in the Detroit offices.
