He'd better not. We're up against the cap as it is. If we have to pay for someone, they'd better be on the ice. I do see him not re-signing after that. He's had a great career here, but I think he will be riding into the sunset. Just hope his last skate is holding up the Cup. Re: Hossa being in a hockey town. Hey, if I was a pro hockey player, I'd want to end up in a hockey town as well. Not much chance for employment in a town with no team. It would have been nicer had he said "a hockey city", or "a great place to play" or something that wasn't trademarked to the city he just left, even if he meant the same thing. Oh, well. Much fuss about nothing. You can tell it's the off-season if this is news.

Not this year. The person below me is a skilled metal worker. (and knows what movie that is from)

Hurricaine. At least you have some warning that it's coming and can get out of the way. And you stay in Kansas. Calling a friend or getting a call from a friend?
-
We don't have Chick-fil-a up here, so McD's by default. Snow White or Sleeping Beauty?
-
I am home right now. (You realize we're talking about needles, not shots, right? As in injections, not booze?) (Sean is hunky, Loo) The person below me has been fishing lately.

Well, there's a pleasant visual. Kind of on-topic, but not really: This thread just made me wonder how many of the Canucks will open their homes to their countrymen whether they are personally playing or not. Not saying a Canuck will be hosting a massive slumber party, just wondering if a player might invite a few of his friends over to get away from the hoopla and de-stress if needed. I also started wondering how many Canucks will be on an Olympian team. Then I started wondering when the last time was that Olympic hockey was played in an NHL facility. I really don't follow the Olympics at all. Then I got a visual of Crosby eating someone's butt. I'm trying to get back to Sammy and the Sedins hosting Swedes, but I'm realizing that Vancouver sure got the homliest Swedes of the lot, didn't they?

I thought I had seen Indiana Jones once, but I guess it was a different one than that one. But, hey, I now get the Grey Submarine in the other thread! The person below me has seen the Indiana Jones movies.
-
We all live in a Yellow Submarine, therefore the Grey one is uninhabited. I'll take the Grey one just so they have to change the song to "We all live in a Yellow Submarine except Karen". Plus I'd get dibs on the bathroom. When did you hate him more: Pronger with the Blues, or Pronger with the Ducks?

Lately, country. Pop has changed so much that I hardly recognize it. Actually, I'm an "I like what I like" type of person. j;sdfj;ldj;sdfjk or fdkjhdflkjdflk

Give me people to cook for, and look out. I'm a dining diva. When it's just me and Nik, it's usually Ramen or something cheap. The person below me is at least part Swedish.

Cute. Back to the Mariah one, I watched the one where Mariah sees the video of the chick who sang her song. I have to say that Mariah was very nice about it. The person below me has sleepwalked (sleptwalked?)

I don't think I've ever accidentally made a burger. I've only made them in resturants. I never make them at home, so they're all good. The person below me watches Jamie Oliver.

I am not going on a vacation except for the 2 hour away trip to see mom and sister. I sing constantly. I usually only do it in places where no one can hear or places where it is socially acceptable. I'm not the one wandering through the small appliances at Walmart singing "Sunrise, Sunset". That was my dad. Yes, he actually did that. Loudly. The person below me enjoys the peaches the most out of all the fruits in the can of Fruit Cocktail.

Whoa. Now that you mention it...

Must be Forsberg. Too much hair on the face to be Sid.
-
Oooooh, Lindros! How much do you suppose he'd sign for? (kidding, in case someone actually took that seriously) My dislike of Forsberg is only due to the fact that he was an Av. I don't have anything against him personally, and if he wants to play yet again, more power to him. Just not here. The timer has gone off, the toothpick is clean, and I'm grabbing a potholder. IOW, he's done.

From what I understand, the 2-way doesn't effect the waivers, only the pay. They get one amount for GR and a larger amount for the Wings. Everything else stays the same.

I don't know. He looks kind of soft. Tall enough, and certainly big, but didn't seem all that physical. Got the puck taken away way too easily. Couldn't hold his own in a fight, although there was that uncalled Third Man In penalty. Didn't seem to have a lot of speed. He'd be a 4th liner at best, but I can see him being a fan favourite. Cute video. I enjoyed it.

I'm nowhere near Kid Rock, which is fine with me. Not a fan. Not that I hate him or anything, just not interested. The person below me sometimes gets a lot accomplished by avoiding something else that's even less pleasant.

Winter has hockey. I didn't watch any of the summer stuff. Australia or Hawaii? (for a vacation destination)

I like apples, but I don't know one from another except that I like red, and yellow are ok, and I'm not fond of green. The person below me has a microwave with the old dial rather than the touch pad.

Oh, frequently. The person below me wishes people would keep their mouths shut when commenting on a flaw (such as a pimple) that one can not change and is not important in the grand scheme of things.

I kind of like the real ones. I have a brown thumb, but I've found a couple that I can't kill. Orange soda or strawberry soda?

I'm gonna get my butt lunkered again for bringing this up again, but hey, a new person means a new audience for my views, right? During the '08 season (especially the playoffs) and after we got the Cup, players talked about how much they wanted to win one for Dally. All those years in the league, living apart from his family (which included a child born right before training camp), the effort he put into it... the guys were bent on getting him that Cup so he wouldn't have to retire without one. Obviously they wanted to win it for themselves as well, but Mac and Ozzie told reporters that after you've won it, you want to give your teammates the experience as well. Dally went balls to the wall for that Cup. He was a focal point for the other guys. Hossa didn't inspire that same determination. He has plenty of years left in him to win one (keeping in mind that no one knew where he would be playing in the future or for how long). If you consider all other factors equal between the two seasons, the drive to win it for Dallas was greater than the drive to win it for Hossa. Of course, all other factors weren't equal. This year's injuries were greater, playing the Sucks was a lot harder than playing Dallas (as in Stars, not Drake) the previous year, and the Duckies wore us down badly, so we were far more the worse for wear heading into the SCF. I don't think that having Drake on the team would have had the impact that it did in '08. Just my opinion. Remember: opinions are like noses. You can pick your friends, and you can pick your nose, but you can't pick your friend's nose.

Hmm, used to be I just hated Pronger, and by extention, the team he's on. I like Selanne. Parros is sexy. Perry is a pain. I don't like Getzlaf, but I have respect for his talent. Not much to hate, and some to like. For me, the feelings needed for a rivalry are brought about by players who are cheap pricks and hard-fought battles of major importance. I felt pretty strongly against the Ducks, mostly because of my hate for Pronger. Now it's just a team to battle and hope for the best. Oh, well. As long as you have Perry, I promise I'll still feel extra good after a win.
