Did I hear a Let's go Red Wings chant in the arena, or was that us yelling so loud that I heard it over the internet?
-
HOSSA YES OK, folks, he came through when we needed him. Time to lay off of him.
-
Zata is just lucky that he didn't get a game misconduct- the NHL is cracking down on failure to be held whilst wearing a winged wheel.
-
I want to see a Cheli goal really bad.
-
Get him, Johan!
-
Thank goodness Ericsson's beard is starting to fill in. He was looking too much like Crosby for my taste. I didn't want him to become the new face of the NHL this early in his career.
-
With Nick, Dats and Drapes out, who wears the A's?
-
With Lids and Dats out, this will be a challenge. Just noted they changed Raffy's goal to Cleary.
-
Babcock's presser yesterday implied that he can't get his foot in his skate.
-
Thanks. It was really for a visual aid anyway.

Well, we're both a little bit right. He was born in 1962, which is what I had used to figure his age, but you are correct that the 1961 series was played in April (6th -16th to be exact). Nuts. I guess that wasn't as cool as I thought it was. He wasn't even in existence yet. Can we just keep it as a joke?

Perfect. And a happy b-day to Draper.

Ewe no eye em! The person below me eats M&M's by first sorting the colours.

In the day, nothing matters. It's the nighttime that matters. Fritos or Doritos?

Exactly! It wasn't a hit from behind, nor was it into the boards or glass. He wasn't away from the play. I hate to see someone injured, but this is exactly what Kronwall is supposed to do in this situation. It's his job and it takes a great amount of intestinal fortitude to go out and lay one on someone like that. Gutless is when you sneak up on them or whack them with your stick, not when you put your own body on the line to get them off of the puck.

Ah, that is a completely different take on it, and I can see how the OP's question could be taken that way.
-
The OP said: I said what the penalty was (as per the question) and added where to go to find the information in the event that the OP should be cursed with VS in the future and wish to find the information on his/her own. I responded as was requested by the OP. Go figure.
-
It was for holding. No offense people, but if you don't know, why bother responding to let people know that you don't know? To find out, go to nhl.com, click on scores, find the right day, click on boxscore and look.

I question the first two words. Watch a replay, then comment. If you don't know, waffle. "I haven't seen the replay. Obviously the team's first concern right now is the health of Marty. I do want to get a good look at it- I just haven't had time to do that yet." Gets you off the hook without committing you to saying anything stupid.

I think the biggest gripe that people are having with Hossa- and with Pavel and, to some extent, Homer- is the difference between the number of goals scored in the regular season compared to the post-season. Compare the accelleration of goals per game of players like Cleary and Samuelsson to the retardation of the scoring pace of players like Datsyuk and Hossa, and it appears that the latter two have been slacking. Last season Franzen surprised us with his scoring. Sammy has been a surprise in the playoffs for the last several years (not that it takes much to surprise LGW folks) simply because the puck has actually found the net at key times. The playoffs tend to be a time when the unexpected players shine, largely due to the opponents' intensified focus on the star players. If Hossa is not able to put the puck in because he doesn't have a lane, but is able to pass it to someone who does, he is doing his job. Edit to add that crashing the net would be nice- but that goes for everyone.

Very good. I like the one with the train #55 as well, but I have a special appreciation for this one as it covers the points of why it was a CLEAN hit.

No. Ick. Not at all. The person below me is impressed that Loo can spell succotash. For some reason, I have trouble with that one.

Finger, unless you're comparing Blake and Jeff. Parsley, sage, rosemary, or thyme?

Hossa knows what the playoffs are about. He has also seen the losing side of the SCF. Many of our younger players only know the joy of victory: drinking from the Cup, the cheering crowds lining Woodward, the gaity and frivolity of being a celebrity at parties, the talk shows and television appearances- in short, the life of a rock star. Hossa knows the bitter disappointment. He knows the long hours, the sweat, the blood, the tears, that go into the long run for the Cup. He knows the emptiness of giving it all and coming away with nothing. Babcock doesn't need to remind him of this. He knows in a way the others don't.

Maybe Hossa misses him. Maybe Koko was an inspiration to him.
