I consider Perry (and Getzlaf too, for that matter) to be mini-Prongers. Hence my hatred for them. Ok, Rig. 1 down, 2 to go. And if you want to score the GWG, I'm good with that too.

I realize that head wounds bleed profusely, but I do hope that Hudler doesn't have any lasting effects from this. I also hope he scores tonight. Several times.

My number one wish is that Huds is OK. My number two wish is that this wakes up something inside the guys and they go out with all balls firing and kick some serious butt. My number three wish involves Ericsson, but I'll spare y'all the details.

I seriously think that we need to score first to set a tone in this series moreso than any other. I don't know why, but maybe I just need it to settle my nerves. I would love to see hat tricks from Cheli and Sammy.

Yes and no. 2007: We lost Nik during the season and Schneids during the playoffs. We faced the Ducks with Lids, Markov, Lilja, Cheli, Lebda and Quincey. 2009: We lost Lilja during the season and Raf (for at least this game) in the playoffs. We are facing the Ducks with Lids, Nik, Stuie, Big Rig, Cheli and Lebda. In comparison, Lids is as good as ever. Cheli is older, but rested. Lebda has improved. That leaves Nik, Stuie, and JonE replacing Markov, Lilja (version 2007) and Quincey. I think we'll be ok.

Working this weekend, but hoping to hook up with Nik so I can clean his cage while he goes out in his ball. He's taken to pretending he's asleep when I come home and want to do some cleaning. The person below me likes our new Swedish defenseman and thinks we should collect them.

Ducks win this one after realizing that the foul is "too many men on the ice". After the first time they are called for 6 skaters, they point out to an official that one of the skaters is Perry, who doesn't qualify as a man. The point is conceded, and the Ducks keep him on the ice all game. The rule is reviewed, and the more politically correct "too many skaters on the ice" version is implemented, after which the Wings win the next 4 games.

You know, I was just pondering this last night at work. What I'd like to see is a 4th line of Koko-Drapes-Helm for the first game of the series vs Anaheim. Now I'm a Maltby fan, but if a team is going to goon it up, it's Ani. So since we don't have Lilja, and Hossa and Big Rig are too valuable to waste fighting, I say we send out Koko as the sacrificial lamb. If the Ducks take liberties, Koko faces The Stache (or Pronger- whatever) in game 1 and we spend the rest of the series with Downey-Draper-Helm. If they don't do anything, then sit Koko for Malts for the rest of the series unless Anaheim was just fooling the first game, in which case, procede with Plan A. Just make sure that Downey has his suitcase packed. He's still in GR at the moment, right? As far as just plain ability, I think Koko's the weakest link, with Malts a close second.

I'm not worried about the Wings consulting me. Whatever works for the boys is fine. That said, the NHL should put all of the games on NBC so everyone can tape them if they have a conflict. Versus, schmersus. Give me something I get!!!!! (or will get after May 6th when the fine folks at Cable One, Fargo's only cable station, come and hook me up). The person below me just can't say no when asked a favour if doing said favour is the right thing to do.

This sums it up right here, folks. I picked the Ducks over SJ. I hoped for a long series where they beat each other up so that if the Ducks did succeed, they'd be tired. I do not underestimate them, but I feel we can beat them. Hector, tell Perry if he wants to "get" us, we get really mad when someone from another team picks up our octopi off of our ice. Just ask "to to" and Commode.
