You and mindfly. The rest of us hope for the best for the Wings. (Just teasing you- don't take me seriously.)

But he wanted to be traded (from what I remember), so I suppose they hold that against him.

What? Now? Good heavens, girl. Shower at intermission. If you miss the fish commercial, someone will post it for you.

Kov is one of my favourite non-Wings. I just hope he doesn't do well against us.

Is Flip playing? I've heard both that he is and isn't. Could someone who is watching give me a yes or no? Thanks. Whether or not he is: HAPPY BIRTHDAY, VALTTERI FILPPULA! May your name forever be correctly spelled. Edit: I see by the ticker that he just got a shot. I guess that means he's playing. nm the first part. Go Val! Get a birthday goal!!!

    More thoughts from Holland

I have heard of the tagging rule, but never really understood its applications. Thanks for bringing this up. Anyone out there who would be willing to explain it for me? I learn so much here. I appreciate it a lot.

Martin Brodeur: Great Goalie, Questionable Morals

The full article said that he had only wanted to pay until he retires. The court said he had to pay until the youngest kid graduates. They did not say if this alimony was in addition to child support, or was to be considered child support. If it is to support the children, I would hope he would want to continue until they're grown. I don't understand why a guy should support his ex-wife, but he certainly should support his kids. Does anyone know if this alimony was to support the kids, or if it was in addition to support?

    More thoughts from Holland

Nope. Just what Holland has been quoted as saying since he doesn't know what the cap will be for next year. If it goes down too much, he could be in a world of hurt if he signs both under the assumption that it won't go down too much, which is what they're projecting. Just playing it safe.

    Hypothectical Situation

Shouldn't be. We've made some roster changes since then. Don't remember offhand where Cheli was playing back in '41, but I don't think it was Detroit

    The person below me game...

Oh, yeah. I teach Sunday School. I have to know. The person below me wishes they knew how to do more cool stuff with computer graphics.

    Osgood to Start Fri/Practice notes

Franzen Filppula Samuelsson was a pretty good line. I can only imagine it would be even better with Dats instead of Flip. Go Ozzie! Go Wings!

    The person below me game...

Only if it's on the bottom right hand corner of a large check that you are legally entitled to sign. The person below me loves the person above me, even if they don't want his autograph.

Hossa nets a roast beef sandwich for the state of Michigan. Wings win.

    The person below me game...

Haven't eaten McD's in forever. I prefer BK, and then only once in a great while due to waist management issues. The person below me could eat fast food twice a week and still stay skinny.

    Playoff Slogan?

Ok, that Fish thing is geneous. Now all we have to do is change a few things to fit the Wings... Put Pavel's face on the fish and have him sing. Seriously. Stay with me here. Have Hank as the guy eating the sandwich, but have him holding the Cup instead of eating. Hossa is the guy who walks in. Lids is the announcer that talks at the end. Now change the words... Give me back that Stanley Cup. Give me that Cup. Give me back that Stanley Cup. Give me that Cup. Aren't you glad it's you hanging out at the Joe? Now since it's you playing with Red Wings, you're gonna be lovin' it so*! (Announcer) Why not get your own tickets to the NHL Playoffs? Especially now that they're on sale at the Joe for just (insert price). *Ties in with McDonald's so they let us use their commercial.

    The person below me game...

Have everything in the envelopes and they are awaiting stamps. Just online now to check out my bank statement so I can write out bills, and then they will all get stamped and sent out tomorrow. Thanks to my baby sister, Chicken (nickname, not her real name), they actually got done before April this year. The person below me has a family member with an odd nickname.

    The person below me game...

I haven't worn makeup since the first Reagan administration. It wasn't worth the trouble. The person below me enjoys doing the Chicken Dance. (I'm under doctor's orders not to.)

    Osgood to Start Fri/Practice notes

If I understand correctly, you only get 4 call-ups after the trade deadline, and we've used one. I do think there's an emergency call-up, but I'm not clear if that counts in with the 4. I'm sure it has something to do with waiting so we only use them if (God forbid) someone else goes out. Hopefully someone can explain this better.

    Crosby the tough guy

Dats would have proposed that they drop helmets completely. Then they would have fought. Then they would have remembered to take their gloves off, but by that time there would have been 42 threads on how Dats should not have to fight and that we need an enforcer. I like what Sid did. Sends a message without mussing his face. And, yes, I do believe he would have followed through if necessary.

So if Flip's out, does Lebda go in as forward?

    Holmstrom injured again

The headaches are symptoms. It's like if you take pain relievers for a broken foot, but keep skating- You'll feel better, but you'll make the foot worse. We don't want Lilja out jarring his brain if it's injured. There's more to life than hockey (at least in his life- he does have a family) and we don't want to ruin his career by rushing him back and causing his injury to get worse.

    The person below me game...

If anything, I have distraction deficit. I am so locked on target when I'm doing anything that I can't lose attention. The person below me has odd dreams in which Red Wing players appear. (I just drempt that Ozzie was a magician/singer/commedian and my hamster and I were assistants in his show.)

    Playoff Slogan?

I like it. Come to think of it, "I like it. I love it. I want some more of it." would be verbally appropriate, but fans would cringe and Preds would get pissy (not that I care about the Preds). Eternal love to ET for the proper use of "than". My guesses? How about "Keeping our fans spoiled". "We'll keep getting Cups until Ozzie is a lock for the Hall" "We'll keep winning until Al gets to twirl." "We're Lazy and We Suck" "Saving Social Security one player at a time." "Start camping on Woodward now" And my personal favourite: "Winning Cups is our job; Pissing off Don Cherry is our hobby."

    Detroit's Hot New Prospect!

If Mac's happy there, I'm happy for him. I doubt he'll be back with the Wings next year. There's just too much talent waiting to come up, even though we're going to lose some of our current guys. If he can play there and make the best of it, and enjoy what he's doing, and keep his life in order, then that's a good place for him. Someone brought up the idea of a player-coach position for him. That would be so awesome for both him and the Wings (not to mention the Griffins). "Ok, boys, find your dominant hand. Make a fist. No, dude- the thumb goes on the outside of the fingers...." We'll have a whole new crop of tough guys that can play in no time! Where ever he goes, what ever he does, I'll always love him. I just hope that he keeps making positive choices in his life.
