I believe their rematch did, but not the original fight. That started with Larionov/Forsberg fighting and the place went nuts. They have some lovely videos on you-tube of the whole thing.

Field hockey? Don't worry, they're not talking about moving to Kansas, they're talking about moving to Kansas City. Missouri is such a hockey mecca...just ask the Blues.

The GMs need to say that in order to appease hard-core hockey fans, purists, and fight fans. Then they need to say that they're looking to curb fighting so that the game is not so dangerous in order to appease soccer moms, sensitive people, and politically correct people (none of whom actually watch hockey, but like to comment on it). They have to make sure they get the right quotes out so that the right people are appeased. In short, they need to grow a pair (or 30 pairs) and stop being bloody politicians.

The only time the house isn't peaceful and quiet is when I make it noisy. So mostly, it's quiet. I do like it that way. Oh, and the blizzard thing? I get to be home for the game tonight! It's a good thing until I have to shovel out tomorrow. The person below me plants a garden.

Yeah, it would seem that they have the break, there are only 2 alternatives: a longer season, or less time off between games, which means more back to backs. Unfortunate, but I think I'd almost rather have the longer season. Tough call, though.

Given the amount of injuries in February and the need to just have a breather, I say go for it, although in non-Olympic/WC years, I like the staggering idea.

I originally read the title as "Spezza gets done with an illegal stick". I wasn't sure I wanted to read about that, but I just had to find out if the legality of the stick really mattered in that case. Stupid move all around by Spezza. You've got to know your stick is illegal. Why even try? Why risk getting a penalty or a goal disallowed? It's really not fair to your teammates. Then to try and destroy it? Stupid. If you need an illegal stick to score, you don't belong in the pros.

The KHL has made drafting players less enticing than it was a decade ago, but I do agree that if a player is good, we'll hear about him. While nationality is not a determinant of talent, they do have good hockey over there and good players. If we can get a good one, we go for it; if not, we get someone else. There's just one player of a particular race I'd like to add to the Wings based on origin alone. I want a Klingon enforcer.

Maybe instead of the All-star game being East vs West, we could have NHL stars vs MLB stars. Now that would be worth watching! Introduce new fans to the game, good comedy, and it could be televised on a regular network. Hmm... Better yet... MLB, NHL, NBA, and NFL allstars play each other in the other sports (ie NHL plays MBL in football and basketball, NBA in football and baseball, and NFL in basketball and baseball). Have the games during times when it won't interfere with regular schedules (tricky, I know- might have to omit playoff team members from participating in some games to accomodate overlapping seasons). Proceeds go to charity. You gotta admit, the hockey games would be a laugh and a half. It might be fun as a one time thing. Compile the standings. Ties broken by a tiddlywink-off. Winners get a new set of golf clubs and a bowling ball. Shut me up now.

Actually, I read that he said that he had had concussions before, but this was different. Of course, all concussions are different, depending on where on your head you get them, the extent of the injury, and how much you had upstairs to begin with

At least there aren't more than 2 games played on Saturdays during each round of the playoffs. Saturdays just aren't our thing. Strawberry preserves. Raspberry preserves. Wildlife preserves. This is painful.
