Overdue? Haven't gone in years. I used to go every 6 months like a good girl, but then I figured that I only have 8 teeth with fillings and I was averaging 5-6 cavities per year. You do the math. Wasn't worth it. I now only have 4 1/2 teeth with fillings, and I'd like to make it 4, but when I've gone to have the 1/2 tooth pulled, they always say they won't pull it because they can fix it. Yeah, like that works. It stays fixed for a few months and then crumbles again. I'm done with all that bs. The person below me thinks that there may have been a mix-up in the posts above me, but found it amusing nonetheless.

If all teams begin the season on almost the same day (except those who played in Europe) and all teams end the season on almost the same day, and all teams play 82 games, wouldn't it stand to reason that having more back to back games also means what we have more stretches between games? Granted it's only a day here and a day there, but it would add up that way, right? Or am I missing something?

Just got home half way through the second, and just now got caught up with the thread. Did we look as good as the stats sound in the first?

Chelischick will be there representing, and she made that sign with the help of some nice members here who helped with the translations. This is an omen or a sign or something.

Truth there. I do have to wonder what it would be like to live in the fishbowl like Sid does. He has managed well for someone so young. If anyone else complains, they're taking it up with the ref. If Sid does, he's whining. How many captains go and take something up with the ref? How many don't? Yeah, I like Sid. He's white bread plain in interviews, but I'm sure his handlers have taught him that. It's the constant media fixation that I have trouble with. Can you imagine being in your early 20's and having "handlers"? No thanks. I was much too wild at that age, and I'm far to independent now. Given the constant fawning of the media, I'd say he has held up pretty darn well. I'd have cracked by now.

Maybe it's just me, but it would have seemed like more balanced coverage if the name "Crosby" hadn't been in there so much. If the topics would have been Det, Pit, Det, Pit etc. people wouldn't be complaining. Instead it went more like Hossa (who's not playing with Crosby), Crosby, Lidstrom, Crosby, Hank (who is playing opposite Crosby), Malkin (compared to Crosby), Conklin (who used to play with Crosby), Crosby, the Wings in general, Staal (compared to Crosby), Dats, Crosby... They did talk about the Wings a lot, and even gave them some props, but everything they said about Pittsburgh was in relation to Crosby. Half the times they mentioned the Pens, it was "Sid's team". If they mentioned who was on the ice for the Pens, it was "Sid's line". One thing I missed: They mentioned that there was a "star cam" following a player from each team. Pit had Crosby. Who did Detroit have?

No work today. 3 more weeks until the lay-off is over. I'm really enjoying this sitting around stuff, although the being broke stuff is getting old. The person below me secretly fantasizes about playing for the Wings- no matter how impossible that may be.

The pairing of Lilja and Ericcson sends shivers down my spine and brings a smile to my face. I can't wait to see Jon in action. Lilja has been great this year (on a performance:ability ratio- not saying he's Norris material). I'm glad we have him. I've heard Jon will drop the gloves as well. Can you imagine being someone on the other team who has been cheapshotting and having to watch those two looking at you and talking in Swedish, not knowing if they are deciding which one will teach you a lesson? It just might equal having an enforcer. Almost.

Is that what that is? Here I thought the neighbours were castrating their chihuahua. You know, guys, lost amongst the Crosby love-fest, they really did have a lot of nice things to say about the Wings organization. They didn't rave about our players (which they should have), but they did say some very nice things about the Illitches and how players really want to play for Detroit.
