dangit. Get it back, boys.

<sigh> I live too close to Minn. Every time I see "Backstrom" I go "huh?" Oh, and Mindfly- we got it the first 6 times.

Well, waddya know? Magic Wallpaper was right. LEINOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
-
Maybe he just has to go a lot. I've seen comercials for drugs to help with that.
-
Magic Wallpaper says Leino today. We'll see... (I picked Swedes, but what do I know?)
-
Got off the night shift, intended on taking an nap (didn't happen) so I will sleep after the game. The person below me hopes Leino kicks some butt today.

Year of the Cat- Al Stewart (I think)

Night Fever- the Beegees

It looks familiar, but I can't place it. The person below me is too trusting.

Once upon a time vulgarity was rare and could be funny at the right time and the right place. Back then, people knew what that time and place was. Now it is just all around and has lost the humour. I thought it was funny in my teens and twenties. Now that I'm older, I'm listening with older ears and I wonder what kind of effect it is having on kids. People don't realize the effect things have on them if the same thing is having the same effect on everyone in their generation. They think they're normal, and they are. It's normal that worries me. We've gone so far in a couple of generations that there's very little left for people who want to push the envelope. Still cracks me up in the right time and place. The person below me is now thinking that one word answers are best.

It's Still Rock and Roll to Me- Billy Joel

Hiccup. Downey will be getting Kopy's time and things will rev up- from the 4th line up. Then Stewie comes back and bye-bye Downey But by then, the guys will have remembered how to hit and maybe throw down a bit, or at least facewash in self-defence. Hank will return, Dats and Lids are better than they have been. Hossa & Homer still looking good. We'll be back on track in no time. And if we don't then we will have had the adversity through which we must battle that brings us together and gives us the strength and courage to prevail. <---That's so sappy I could yak.

Would have loved it. The person below me has gone on a trip and forgotten something important (like their laptop). Edit: typos from hitting the wrong keys on a strange computer

Just an Old Fashioned Love Song- Three Dog Night
-
So excited! I actually get to see this one! Have to drive 2 hours, but what the heck, free dinner at Mom and Dad's, and Center Ice to boot! I hope they call up Leino. As much as I love the other guys mentioned, I'd like to see what he's got. Wings win (when have I ever said anything else?) 4-2 Homer, Hossa, Hudler, Hflip Barch, Niskanen

Actually, you have to take it in context regarding to whom he was referring. He had been asked about Lids and Dats. Not to mention, they were the only other guys the statement could have applied to this year. The full article is here. Now I don't blame Crosby for his comments because, judging from his statements, he seems to be under the impression that the guys were aware of the option. They have stated that they weren't. He also states that he was not aware that he could go and not miss a game until he called Bettman. Apparently, nobody told him that Lids and Dats didn't know. If Bettman said that he'd call the other guys, then Crosby would be operating on that assumption. We don't know what was said in the call. Crosby may have been misinformed, or he may have jumped to a conclusion. Either way, his comment about "rest" vs his "injury" has a negative tilt to it. It would have been better had he said they needed "rehab" or "treatment" or something like that. "Rest" implies just taking the time off. But you're right that he didn't say they weren't really injured. It was just implied that he came despite his injury, and they didn't because they wanted rest. I still don't think Lids and Dats have deserved the treatment they have received for this. Those who went all "selfish prima donna jerks" on them should have at least considered that they may have chosen to rehab. It galls me that people dragged two guys with their reputations and Lids' history through the mud. If you don't know what I'm talking about, see Theo Fleury's article.

Jingle Bells- out of curiosity, I looked it up and found that there is a song of that title by: Boney M. Brendans Boys Die Roten Rosen Fats Domino John Denver Korn Onkel Tom Angelripper Paul Brandt The Vindictives Jimmy Buffett Not sure if all of these are the traditional Christmas song or not.

No, but I've seen it done- as a waitress/dishwasher who then had to get a new drink/wash out the old glass. Grr. The person below me likes grits.

I don't know if you'd call it unnatural, but I have dark hair which naturally has a lot of grey. I usually go with a dark brown. I used to give it a reddish tint, but now I have so much grey in the bangs that I end up with auburn hair with carrot bangs, so I don't do that any more. Anyway, once I dyed it black and then dyed the bottom 5 inches (waist-length hair) a platinum blonde. It was cool, but the next time I dyed it, I had to go back to all one colour and cut off the ends because they were fried. The person below me likes tetris.

Well, that link from HoH does shed new light on things. I'll retract my statements regarding the phone call being on Friday. It was obviously on Wednesday (the day they got back from Phoenix, right?) So Ken could have told the guys when they got back to miss their treatments and go, and they'd have been able to play on Tues. vs CBJ. I really think he should have given them the option, but I can see as a GM where he would think their medical treatments were more important. That's kind of a black eye for Kenny, who I've been celebrating all day. The part that stinks is that they weren't told and they got dragged throught the media mud, and even talked down about by some of their fans for missing when they still had no idea they were supposed to go. And, quite frankly, I still think it's stupid to expect them to show up if they're injured. I agree with Holland that Wednesday was too short of notice, but I do admit I was wrong about the timeline. Oh, and Shoreline- the rule was not in place last year. It was decided at the GM meeting after last year's ASG. Somebody (Kelly?) erroniously said that Broduer was suspended, but he played the next game. So that's where that came from.

Whiskey Bent and Hell Bound- Hank Williams, Jr.

Not for several decades. The person below me has been to the Wings' training camp in TC.

Don't need one now, but I have a couple by the chair from the last time I did. The person below me has put a small piece of garbage in a glass thinking the glass was empty because they were too lazy to get up and put it in the trash, only to find out that the glass was not actually empty. Strawberry soda with mint snus. Rats. Waste of good soda.
