That's a tough one cuz out in these parts we don't measure by miles, we measure by time. I'm an hour away from where I grew up. That sort of thing. I'm 15 minutes if I go straight to work, but I pick up my friend, so from my place to hers and then to work is 25 minutes, most of it is interstate, but since we're in an "urban area" the speed limit is only 55mph. So I'm guessing the answer is no. The person below me can name all of the Beatles off the top of their head.

Sorry, I don't have one to offer. Besides, I'm in ND. There's opportunities here, though. Hop on I-94 and go west. Can't miss it. Good luck on finding one. I'm looking too. Graduating in December, but nothing in my field opening up. The person below me had a Light Bright.

Cover the keyboard so they can't see what you're typing. You'll give them ideas. Oh, wait. Vision isn't their strong suit. Well, then, um, type more quietly. Or something.

Thanks. I was getting mixed messages. Well, then... GO MULE!
-
Was that goal a Mule or a Kronner?

This is the game that was advertised on LGW, right? For those of you employing visual and audio technology, can you see or hear a bunch of crazy Wings fans?
-
Crap. I can't remember if I do or not. It's hard to keep everyone straight around here. I'll give you the benefit of the doubt. The person below me looks good in leiderhosen.

Magic desktop wallpaper says Kronwall with a goal tonight. Wings 4: Kronner, Hossa, Dats, Z Fla 2: deflections off of undetermined players which happen to cross the line.

I agree that it was time for him to retire, and that Ozzie and Conk can handle things, but, yes, even as an Ozzie fan, I did like having the Dominator around. His interviews were funny, and he was just a cool guy. I saw an article recently where he and Jagr and some others were honoured by the Czech president. It was pretty good, and he looked well and happy in the pics. Hope he's doing well and enjoying his retirement. I know my BP is lower since I'm not gasping for him to get back in his "nest".

Have not been to an amusement park and, at 5'10" and 42 years old, I have been that certain height for a long time. The person below me has been to a drive-in theatre.

words and phrases and clauses. Good for you! I do like a good muskmelon. The person below me has never been to Boston in the fall.

Winner. No player on the Wings is the worst player ever. I am. I got sent to figure skating.

Sanity is a state of mind. I'm not sure I have that after reading your post. I'm not sure I had it before. The person below me knows the next line to this: "Conjunction junction, what's your function?"

My parents get HGTV and I enjoy it immensely. If/when I get cable/dish/direct tv, I will have to fight to keep myself off of that and the food channel. The person below me has been to Europe. (I haven't.)

The thing you have to realize is that this forum is made up of a wide variety of people, and that each expresses him/herself differently and each has his/her own attitude. You can kind of put people into groups. Let's call the first group the apples. They notice things and comment on them. They might notice when a certain player makes a mistake, or if someone showed less effort than the situation called for. Most of the time they have good, interesting insight, but there are a few bad apples around. The next group is the oranges. They also watch and comment. They eventually focus on a specific player who they feel is not performing up to par. Each section has its own player, and often there is a seed of truth in with the pulp. The bananas come out after losses or close games. They are not commenting like the apples and oranges, they are just going bananas. They are the "oh, no! We suck! The sky is falling!" types. Often someone wishes the bananas would just split, and they post a comment telling them to settle down. This cuts the apples to the core. They feel that this is aimed at them, and point out that this is a place for talking about hockey. They are right, of couse. It is. The oranges also take offense and find a new zest for their cause. They bash their hated player even more, until the seed of truth is all but lost in the juice. So to mentally navigate this site, don't compare apples to oranges, and come to terms with the fact that some people are just plain bananas. The bad part of all this is that the bananas don't see themselves as bananas; the apples and oranges see themselves in comments aimed at the bananas and take offense where none is intended. So when will the bashing end? When we win decisively. When no mistakes are made. And even then it will end only for the moment. Once a mistake is made the bananas will come out again. Until then, the apples and oranges will discuss, and the players will play. We will comment, cheer, and share news with one another. And life will go on.

Well, no, but I showed up. Unless you count hitting little sisters when we were preschoolers. Even then, I lost cuz I was the one who got in trouble. The person below me has flannel pyjamas/nightgown.

Nope... Next elephant, please.
-
sure you do! Goalies say it all the time: "Gotta put on extra chest padding tonight. Playing the Wings. That Sammy is dangerous. He could bruise my chest!"
-
Thanks. Yep- you're right about DMac.
-
Sorry- I left for a second and missed it. What was the penalty and on whom?
-
There goes that theory. Who's left? Lilja?
-
Of course not! Neither goals, nor fights, nor brilliant play shall keep these posters from their accustomed negativity. It's the LGW way.
-
Next goal will be Sammy. You heard it here first.
-
Just before the game I changed my desktop to Mac. In case anyone has any requests.

Can't be God. He's on the same team as Satan. Must be the Anti-God.
