So, for those of you who want Downey up and Mac down, how many are just thinking out loud and wishing, and how many have an actual plan for this to fit in under the cap? I want them both up, but that's impossible and I realize that. Just thinking out loud.

Sick and cold as well here. I can't type that well. Part of it is due to my blinky thing on the screen jumping around all over the place when I type. I think the computer's getting old. EDIT: Oopsies, Brandon beat me, so I'll just answer his question too. I do not have tickets to tonight's game. I have called in sick and I will be at home with the GDT and NHL.com's real time ticker going so I can follow the game. Can't wait! The person below me has played a banjo. I assumed that "have a beer with" meant just hanging out at a bar. If it meant literally drinking beer, neither Mac nor I would be able to participate. We'd just have to go out for coffee...wait. I hate coffee. We'll do lunch. Mac would be my choice of lunch partners, bar mates (each drinking beverage of choice) or just to hang and chat with. Same goes for all the other guys I mentioned, but if we're counting Ericcson, add him to my list of guys I'd like to meet as well.

Malts, Drapes and Ozzie would be a fun group to hang with (with Mac, of course). Downey would be a riot. (Yes, he counts in my book. YMMV.) So would Homer. Of course, being female, I'd like to have a drink with the hot ones: Flip, Sammy (IMO), Kronner, Lilja, Hank, and the aforementioned Downey, Mac, Ozzie and Malts. Being a middle-aged gravitationally challanged female, their significant others would have nothing to worry about. If it was a rough part of town, I'd want Mac, Downey, or Lilja. I punched a guy at work the other night and hurt my hand. He laughed. Sucks getting old. I'd say Lids, but I'd be too nervous.

Last year was "win it for Dally" year. This year is "win it for Hossa" year. If Sundin wants a "win it for Mats" year, 2009-2010 is open. All he has to do is get with Kenny before the season starts like all the other boys.

I had the same thought. No matter where Mac ends up hockey-wise, at least he got his personal life back on track. It's a good thing to hear when someone makes it back from the brink- and a tragedy when they don't. I've seen it too many times, as I'm sure we all have, and it's got to be harder when one is in the spotlight.
