That's the one! I knew I'd seen one somewhere. Thanks! I was looking at the Official NHL Winter Classic page of the Official NHL website. Should have known that they'd not be able to keep up with all of the happenings during this busy One-of-a-kind Outdoor Classic Games Jamboree/Free-for-all.

My bad. I looked at the original lines posted and didn't see the correction. Thanks for setting me straight. I guess I'll hold off on the returnofhelmgasm, but the rest of the returnees are certainly welcome additions!

It could happen. Some of those guys did play for both teams. I'm just surprised that they aren't being featured on the Leafs side as well. After looking at the Leafs roster, I am surprised that they have so few people. Of course, if the second game is Cup winners, the Leafs might be unwrapping the mummies as we speak. (Oh, that was mean.)

Swap Tootoo for Cleary and I'm happy with it. Z, Helm, Abby, DeKe, Pasha... whenever one of those guys misses a game, bad things happen. When combinations of these guys are out, worse things happen. Now that they're all back and all (hopefully) healthy, we should be able to beat these rink rats.

SKATE, FORREST, SKATE! -
I like Robert Lang. He was kind of a misfit here. He did well before he got here, but just didn't fit here. At least he gave the Hobbit a hold to grow up in.

Some of us are already revolting enough. Cool video. I wish they had cameras (with or without sound) on the players or refs for a Wings game. That would be so cool. I'd really love to hear what was said on some of those calls that we know were bs. If I spoke French, I'd have loved to hear the goaliecam on Fleury when Z's shot went in off his butt in the SCF of '08.

The first time I saw DeKe with his specs I wondered if they were real or Hanson-inspired. When I saw him again, I figured they were real, but I[m still wondering about Hanson-inspired.

I second that. Thanks to Matt and the mods for giving us this great place. Thanks to all the in-staters who have the info for all us out-of-market people. Thanks to the friends- new and old- and people who "watch" the games with me. For those who are celebrating today, may you enjoy time with family/friends and get joy from the gifts you give and receive (thanks, Loo! I'll be toasting you!). May you all have a wonderful 2014, filled with health, wealth, dreams that come true, and many Red Wings victories to celebrate.

Conn Smythe quote: Got it from the Leafs website.

Nope. Not giving them a penny of my hard-earned money. The person below me has unwrapped a gift recently.

Seriously though, the Lamoureax gals are good North Dakota chicks. Got to cheer them on.

Sammy for sure, for the reason Nev stated. I was watching the SCF with a Michigan friend who is only a casual fan. When Sammy got the puck, I complained that they had given it to him and expounded on how he was the Shinguard Assassin/Logo Hunter. Then he scored, and I announced that it was a fluke. Before I'd gotten the egg off my face, he scored again. I gave myself over to him, allowing myself to be sucked forever into the vortex that is Sammy. Too bad that isn't the only thing involving Sammy that's sucked. Steve, get your mind out of the gutter.

True words, but if she didn't, I'd have to question her story. It's not like she's financially dependent or has no where else to go.

When I hear "penalty box", I think of Shanny.

gdt 12/21 GDT: Red Wings 5 @ Maple Leafs 4 (SO, yes, SO)

Welcome back, Danny D! Please win. In regulation, if at all possible, but I'm not picky. -
From an owner's standpoint, he's got a point. You could have the bad boy sit in Pierre's spot or in the dressing room tunnel (until right before the penalty expires) or you could have smaller boxes since we still need a place for the Men in Blac...er, Suits. On the other hand, I sat next to the visitor's penalty box once at a Wild/Red Wings game and it was the thrill of my existence to be that close to Pavel, Hank, Meech, and Drapes. It's a grand tradition of the game. I don't think anything will come of his comments, unless the boxes are just made smaller, but it's not the dumbest idea hockey has ever seen <coughinstigatorcough>.

Now for the big question: Did she drop him?
-
Then why wasn't he wearing short pants and long socks? That's his normal attire when he fights. Or maybe short pants and long socks isn't normal attire and hockey players shouldn't be forced to do it because no one else wears that sort of get-up to their jobs. Or maybe certain situations call for different actions, dress codes, etc. I'll have to think about it. I'm greasing down my wetsuit for a visit to the dentist. I decided I wanted to knit a scarf and eat a cheeseburger so I'll have comb my hair. What? They're all perfectly normal activities. Shouldn't they be expected?

So this is about as random as it gets. I'm editing the family tree that my sister Deb put together. On May 4th, 1670, Katherine Dale, daughter of Major Edward Dale and Lady Diana Skipwith, married Thomas Banford Carter. Since Edward and Lady Diana only had daughters, they made out their will to leave everything to Katherine, who was the oldest. The will was made out in 1674, which was the year of death of the youngest daughter. The other lived until 1695. This is the actual transcription of the will: As it turns out, the will was updated in 1695, upon the death of the middle daughter. The new will read: This turned out to be a bad thing. Since a widow couldn't contest a will, the heirs stripped the estate before submitting it to the court. Lady Diana was left pretty much broke until she died. She didn't live long, though.

Tootootootootootootootoo! Tootoo scores a goal 2 seconds into his second shift. He scores his second goal 2 minutes into the 2nd period. He spends the rest of the game wishing he was Kris Draper. Wings win 2-0.

You're far more attractive now. (assuming that you look like your avatars) I have a feeling that the Bears/Packers game (week 17) will be the Game of the Season. Since it's being played at the same time as the Lions/Vikings game, I'll be glued to both the tv and computer. So many times we could have pulled ahead of the Bears and Packers this season but lost heartbreakers instead. Someone had said last season that the Lions' problem is that they don't know how to be a winning team. They don't have the mindset. I'm starting to wonder if there isn't something to that.
-
So my sister asked and I answered, but now I'm not sure... Does Tootoo have to clear waivers should he be sent down again? Or, since Alf missed practice with a "possible injury" thus leaving the team with 11 forwards, does this count as an emergency call-up, and does that status change if Alf does play (which I am understanding that he will and missing practice was just due to it being outdoors and was precautionary)? It took me years to understand the old CBA. Now I'm a rookie again. Any help is appreciated.

Congratulations! Here's to a bright future!
