This isn't what the one you quoted said, but apparently if it goes past the 1st OT, then they switch. Sucks for us out of the Dallas & Detroit areas with no VS, but I'm confident we will pull it out in regulation.

I have a better idea. If the game goes long, tape the horserace, and play it back during the next intermission. We have the technology.

Do you start with one section, like the wave? Or do you put them on really slowly? Or do you take them off during intermissions and TV timeouts and then put them back on during the game? Pierre. While his voice annoys me almost as much as Doc's, and he blathers pompously, what really bothers me is his left parietal bone, just above where it borders the sphenoid bone. I find myself staring at it every time he is on TV as though it has me mesmerized. It disturbs me.

I totally hear where you're coming from with the last sentance. If Malts hadn't been injured, we wouldn't be having this discussion. He'd be in. Period. Unfortunately, fair doesn't count for a hill of beans in the playoffs. Ride the hot horse. Don't fix what ain't broke. All that. If the guys we have in there right now are getting it done, they stay. They are gelling well, and you just don't mess with chemistry at this point in the year. I love Malts, and I do think he would be an asset for the team if he was in there right now, but I honestly can't say "pull this guy" without disrupting someone's chemistry. Hopefully there will be no injuries, but if there are, I'm thrilled we have Malts to jump in. But like you said, it just isn't fair that he was out there- and there were games where he shone brightly- and now he doesn't get to play. I hope that he does see some action for a game or two, preferably for reasons of resting someone rather than having someone injured. I do think he's earned that much.

I'm being selfish. The longer each round goes, the more hockey we get to watch before the end of the season. I like the Wings to sweep, but everyone else can play on to game 7 (except the Wings' opponent, obviously). More hockey for me, to get me through that dreadful summer until the Lions start playing. Some days, I wish I liked baseball.
