My opinion: Hasek will retire if we win the Stanley this year. Next year, Oz and Howard. I'm comfortable with that. If Hasek does retire, it will be well-earned. If he comes back, I for one will welcome him back.
-
Total agreement from me. Even Babs said he put Howard in cuz of the team, not because of Ozzie.
-
Howard! I'm loving this kid- and he's getting help from the rest of the team1
-
Good job, Howard. Keep it up.
-
That right there tells me we don't.
-
OK, I'll believe you. I just thought I had heard he was named after Sobotka.
-
I like Quincey too. I'm hoping Howard doesn't have to make any huge saves, but I think he'll be up to the task if he ooes. I'd just rather we keep the puck out of his end.

Don't feel bad- until I fiddled the bunny ears, I couldn't even tell it was purple.
-
I suppose he brought it with him? Can't really expect a guy to put out the cash for a new one when he gets called up every few years.
-
Post- oh, well. Next time.

Subject/verb agreement is also important. Gosh, I love grammar threads. Can we do this more often? Edit for spelling. Oh, boy, that would have been funny!

You know, what you say, and for the reasons you say it, this is something I'd like to see. Yes, it is unusual, but it has merit. Good thinking. It may not be something that would be a good thing to try if we were fighting for every point, but in a slump and with injuries and whatnot, I think it would be interesting.

That's just plain odd. I got Chinese yesterday and my fortune said the exact same thing. <cue Twilight Zone> Living the Dream: Fire on Ass. That was hilarious!

Nah, throw him to the Stars. The Wolves' net is too small to get an accurate judgement. Sorry, couldn't resist. Don't mind me. Back to intelligent conversation.........

I was browsing the General list of topics and I read the title of this one, was distracted, looked down and saw another topic title. It read "Let's trade Samuelsson for......Steroids, the NHL and Congress." I thought to myself that this would be a great trade, but how would we get the cap space to pay congressional salaries? Then I decided we could just not extend their contracts and no one would notice. Not that we would use the steroids, of course. That would be wrong.

I was hoping that Howard would start in Dallas, but I was afraid I'd look like I was bailing on Oz if I said so. I'd like to see what he's got, give him some experience, light a fire...all that stuff that's been said, but I also want to see Oz in Colorado. I know, it isn't the 90's and so much has changed, but I still smile at the thought of Osgood and Roy. Maybe it'll resonate in his head and clear out the negative thoughts that have been sent his way lately. Whatever it takes to bring out the fighter in him, figuratively or literally. So, Go Howard! Go Ozzie! Go Wings!

Lou_Siffer and F.Michael, you are prime grade. Those were choice posts, and I were hitting the sauce, I'd give you a pat on the buns. Keep up the delicious posts, you hams. You're out of my league.

Comprendo. The problem with Sammy having been named Whipping Boy as soon as Lang stared packing is that now those who bash Sammy for fun and those who are calling them as they see them are saying the same things and it's hard to tell who just likes to be mean and who is being honest. With Sammy right now, reality isn't nice. He hasn't been performing well. I just feel for the guy since he was projected to bomb before he hit training camp. For that reason, I'd love to see him excel and prove everyone wrong. It's those decades of mental conditioning as a Lions fan in Vikings/Packers territory. You tend to root for the underdog. Heck, the way things are going right now, I just want to see someone start excelling.

Yeah, recalled conversation+alcohol+wishful thinking=altered reality. My bad. Here's to it happening really soon!
-
You know that jk means "just kidding", right? Or did you miss that bit on the end of the post? Don't worry about it, though. There's been a lot of strange posts lately. My excuse is alcohol.
-
Well, I'm not going to bash you for bashing Sammy, if you promise not to bash the people who will bash me for not bashing you for bashing Sammy.
-
Oh, shoot. I thought he was. Now that you mention it, I may have been recalling conversations about how great it would be to sign him to one. Does anyone know for sure?

You're sentimental. You're also quite right. We need some sort of a spark. We have talent, but except for Dats, and glimmers from Mule, it's not coming together for some reason. D Mac has spark right now. He's alive with passion. Calling him up right now would be about as big a kick as the Wings can get. Does scoring a hattie in the AHL mean you're ready for the NHL? Not necessarily, but it's a far better sign than not scoring a hattie in the AHL.

I'm one of the two non-haters. I would rather not see him on the PP, but I don't have a problem with him as a 3rd or 4th liner. Moving one of the other guys up isn't going to help if they don't step up and play better than they have. Right now the problem isn't "we need someone better than Sammy", but "we need someone better than himself" (himself referring to the other player in question- man, there's no clear way to word that sentance- sorry, blame the alcohol). In short, we're stuck with Sammy for the time being. It's kind of like going to the prom with your cousin. You know you won't score, but it's better than nothing. Hmm, maybe we should see if GR has any hattie-scoring forwards available. Edit for complete lack of clarity.
