My family are Wings fans. The last thing my dad and I did together before he passed was attend a Wings game. My mom and sister and I will be going to another game this spring. I've met some seriously wonderful people here on LGW. I'm thankful for the fun and good times I've had rooting for the Wings. Sure, it could have been another team, with another website and another set of people, but I'm thankful that I have come into contact with the fans of one of the most storied franchises in sports. I'm thankful that I'm now living in this internet age where I can get to "know" the players via media that wasn't available some years ago. I'm thankful that the players and coaches take the time for interviews for us, and that we can see and hear all about them year-round. I'm also thankful that they don't seriously suck any more.

Go Wings. Great GDT! (Creepy at times, but in a great way.) Too bad Alf can't be here for this one. Let's win another one.
-
We play the Wings tonight? Goodness, I hope it doesn't go to a shootout.

Good heavens, lad! The woman's over 70 and she's got morals! She'd hip-check you into next week.

Those xenophobes need to be more Euro-inclusive. (EDIT because I can spell "xenophobes" but not "be".)
-
It takes real commitment to root for a team like that year after year.
-
I don't know how the League let the refs get away with all those bogus "goaltender interference" calls against Holmstrom.
-
Wasn't it 10 games out of 11 that we lost in February of '08 before we got Stuart and bolstered our blueline? I think we did ok that year.

He was brought in because we needed a right-handed shot who wasn't afraid to actually SHOOT the blessed thing. Now he's just there to distract the female admirers so that Hank can focus on hockey.
-
They're such goons, we should call them "Philadelphia West".
-
I heard that it's not a good idea to post personal information like that on the internet.

Santa helmets! Red helmets with fur and tassels! CUTE!!!!!
-
Now that we've got that silly "lose in OT/SO" nonsense over and done with, let's win this one!

Do not show those sweaters to my mother. Please.

I always liked him. The money certainly sounds reasonable. Keep him around, please.

You gotta give us a few days. We're still banging our heads against walls due to losing tonight. Good guy, but I always wanted to see him Kronwalled just so I could say Nik couldn't decide who to hit so he decided to flip Aucoin. All the best to him.

Obviously I want the Wings to win tonight, but I do have to say... "Nice job against Chicago!"

Everyone scores a goal. Regulation ends up tied 20-20. Kenny gets on the phone and makes a trade. As the shootout goes into the 103,257th round, Andersson is informed that he's been traded for five minutes and Monahan -a Wing for five minutes- takes the ice. Monahan scores the winning goal because that's what he does in the shootout. The Wings finally win. Having taken notes, they now know how to win in a shootout. They win the rest of their games from here until the end of the season, always in a shootout. When the playoffs come, they sweep their way to the cup by just having everyone shoot at least once in the first overtime. The NHL finally realizes just how stupid the shootout is and they amend the loser point format. Ok, I was kidding on that last part. Go Wings!

Lucky for you, it's pre-melted!

Good thing they didn't do it last season. It would have been 12/3.5, which would have been a half-assed effort.

Disappointed. They don't offer a snuggie and the world's smallest juicer, which is yours to keep if you send it back in 30 days.
-
You missed it. It was the Limited Edition NHL® Official 2014 Bridgestone NHL Winter Classic® presented by Amway, General Electric, McDonald's, and Edna's Yam Emporium Snuggie. It was only available on websites that you don't get, but because you live in an area which the NHL® says is supposed to get them, are blacked out because of contractual obligations. The NHL® suggests that you pay them hundreds of dollars to get these websites, at which time they will allow you to read the fine print informing you that you can not get these websites. The NHL® apologizes for the inconvenience, and will now lock out the players to negotiate this problem because the NHL® loves you, because you are the Best Fans in the World.

You confused me for a moment. Then I realized that "shooting practice" was different than "target practice", which was what I thought it meant.
-
I'm so glad you provided the link. I thought Snuggies were diapers.

Has anyone donated for the mustache guys? Who do you think has the best 'stache? I'm going with Howard. http://redwings.nhl.com/club/page.htm?id=93908
