He'd be a good choice. I could also see some of the veteran Wings (Cleary, Bert). You'd think they'd have packed an extra A, just in case. Or just borrow one from a Canadian, eh. They can't magic marker one on?
-
Who ordered the Hot Toddy? Can you make it a double?
-
I'm sure that if she forgot to bring something to dump on him that she also forgot to bring her magnifying glass.

Because when Babcock speaks, Sammy gets the point. Get it? Power play? Point? Ok, it wasn't that funny.
-
We still have to keep it on topic. So... since ET is 25, this means that the Yotes will get 2 and the Wings will get 5. Wings- Sammy, Alfie, Mule hattie Yotes- Chipchura (bounce in off his skate), Bissonnette (puck floats past Jimmy at an odd angle due to the hot air propelling it)
-
As much as I love Tootoo, it does make sense for Sammy to be in if Nik's gone. We need someone on the point for the PP.
-
Is that Cleary? Smiling? He doesn't smile for photos. Must be an imposter. Call security!

Lids and Drapes for the Wings? I have no Blues Clues.

In honour of my mother's birthday, I request a win. In honour of my sister's birthday (yes, same day), I request that somewing get a hat trick. In honour of Euro_Twins' birthday (no relation), I request that Bottle of Smoke get out of the arena sober enough to not accidentally pick up a Coyote and have to have us bail her out of jail.

Quite so, and like all forms of entertainment, it's not for everyone. I personally like it and consider it an integral part of the game and a valid strategy. Others don't like it and consider it a distraction. Entertainment has changed over the years. In ancient Egypt they wrote on walls; now we have Facebook. In ancient Rome they watched lions devour people; in Michigan we just hope they don't choke. Some say fighting is on its way out, but I hope I'm dead and gone by then. So.... back to topic..... I don't watch a lot of Panthers hockey. Not even the dual allure of Kopecky and Samuelsson could make me do that. I'm hoping that he'll adjust to our style, but as long as he's working hard, which seems to be the case, he should get it.

Am not.

Love-o-meter Average hockey player +++ Average Red Wing +++++++++++++++ Drew before the fight +++++++++++++++++++++++ Drew after the fight ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ and on past the DomincanCupid ad, off the screen, over the end table, through the lava lamp, out the window, across the lawn, and into the neighbour's meth lab.

In Soviet Russia, Commie comes to you.

It was a joke.

This is Brendan Shanahan, Director of Player Safety. On October 17th, Niklas Kronwall of the Detroit Red Wings was hit by Cody McLeod of the Colorado Avalanche. McLeod's hit to Kronwall's back caused Kronwall to crash into the boards, causing cuts to the ear and a concussion. Niklas Kronwall admitted that he put himself in a bad position. As the Avalanche announcers pointed out, Kronwall often hits other players with force. The Avalanche are this season's "Cinderella Story" and are making good press for the league. Since the McLeod plays for the Avalanche, and Kronwall is a repeat offender who admits culpability in the incident, it is the judgment of the Department of Player Safety that a five-game suspension be levied against the player who was truly at fault... Cody McLeod. Thought you had that one, didn't ya, Roy. Bring back any memories?
-
Too true. Too bad it wasn't a hangnail or something. I don't want any serious injuries- certainly not concussions. This does buy us some time. Just hope they can work something out quickly and Nik is back and healthy.
-
This is NOT the LTIR injury I want. I want someone to stub their toe or get dandruff. Scary watching him go down like that. I was at work and Loo texted me about it. Just saw the video now, and I'm glad that I know that it wasn't as bad as it looked. I'm not belittling concussions- they're dangerous stuff, but that looked horrible. Love Ericsson's tackle after the hit. Nothing bothers me more than when players fight around a fallen guy, but E pushed him over and away from Nik. I don't think it was malicious on McLeod's part, but it was dangerous. Get better, Nik!
-
Childhood? Now you make me feel old. It was a big part of my middleagedhood. Go Wings. Crush Roy.

Completely agree. He has a lot of potential that has been stifled playing on teams like Toronto and getting injured. Since I'm high on Mrazek (cautiously high- maybe mezzanine-level), I'd like to see Monster get something nice next year. Maybe we can thank him for his efforts by increasing his value when he hits free agency by winning a Cup for his resume. Plus with Nyquist looming on the horizon, having Monster move on will help with the Gus-Gus situation.
-
If the Wings win the Cup, they'd better add your name to it. You just stacked up enough positive kharma by being good to your woman that not only will Helm be back, but he'll stay back.
-
Someone will have a tweaked something-or-other that will put them on IR until the next injury. On a totally unrelated note, Fargo's supposed to get snow this weekend. I like Sammy. I need someone to run my snowblower. Just sayin'. Once they've sent down Luke, the only other one they can send is Lashoff, which doesn't help since he's a d-man. I suppose the knee-jerk-think-only-of-the-moment reaction (and therefore, the LGW Way) is to trade Smith. I wonder how long we can keep the running IR list before the league gets suspicious?
-
Splendid! I assume that this means Luke goes back down? Oh, well. Tickled to have Helm back!

I still laugh at his signing with the Flyers. He's 34. He signs an extension for seven years. He'll be 35 when it kicks in, so it has the 35+ rules, and the Flyers were, "Um... yeah... uh.... we knew that... did we know that?...and we're ok with it... um... we're really glad to have him and ... um... yeah....hooboy, nobody thought about that, did they?... we're sure he'll be an asset to the team well into his 40's... oh, crap. I looked it up... they're right... we're on the hook for a 35+ deal... so we're proud and pleased to welcome Chris Pronger to Philadelphia!"

Yeah, I wish we had more big bodies who would Hertl themselves towards the net.
