Love Ozzie's water cooler.

I'm far more concerned about the morals/ethics of a person with a firearm than whether or not that person can navigate a standardized test. IQ tests are over-rated and often inaccurate. (According to them, I'm intelligent. Therefore, I don't trust them.)

If the Wings can't trade anyone, they should have a roster of 2 goalies, 6 d-men (send down Lashoff, who I'm pretty sure can go back down) and 15 forwards. Sammy's played on the point on the PP, so let him be the 7th d-man in a pinch. If a d goes down longer, put him on LTIR and call up Lashoff. I know, the point on the PP is different, but it's as close as we come unless someone has defense experience that I don't know about. Guys have crossed over before between forward and defense. That's my opinion for the day.

That's the one that got me started this time, but I've had this rant going pretty much since they got that rule. You have the ball, you cross the line, you get a touchdown. Why mess with that?

Am I a bad person for hoping for a continuous series of non-painful temporary ouchies for the forwards on the team? Just enough for them to take turns on LTIR so we don't have to get rid of anyone. Then they can all be healthy in the playoffs.

Well... maybe throw him at the octopus? Seriously- if we were sitting here with only 12 forwards signed, nothing coming up yet, and Cleary was still available, I'd be pleased as punch. There's no doubt that he has the mental fortitude that gives a boost to his teammates. Unfortunately, someone is going to get moved, and aside from Emmerton, I can't think of anyone who I'd want to give up (based on actual performance or potential) that doesn't have an NTC.

I did when I was younger, although I rarely got the chance to do it. Nowadays it would kill me, but I do love those creatures. The person below me wonders what "MidMichSteve" whose avatar says that he's in Albuquerque is trying to pull by telling us that he's in Oklahoma.

Pretty much what Echolalia said. (Ooh- irony!) I'm eager to see what Dekeyser does with a full season. Can he play like he did last year with us? I hope so, but I've seen d-men come in high and then sink (Ericsson comes to mind), but if he does, I hope that we're patient with him like we have been with E and Kindl, and that our patience is rewarded thusly.

Even if they weren't related and were from different countries and had a 14-year gap in their ages, I'd still want to keep them together if they had that same chemistry. Granted, they probably wouldn't have it, but I'm just saying that any two players who play that well together and want to play together should be allowed to stay together. Besides, it cuts down on the wondering for everyone involved. One set of meetings and you know what each is going to do. There's no "if this guy wants this much, then we may not get the other" stuff. I think they're funny-weird, and the twin-ness just amplifies it.

I hope he makes it and does well there. <insert usual "not against us" clause>

Oh, now I miss Murph. I'm sure Ozzie will come up with some amusing stuff too, but Murph was Murph.

I wonder if all of the "still talking with Detroit" stuff we've been hearing is just that they're still "talking" so that more teams would take an interest in him and/or offer him more. "Talking" as in: Hey, Dan! How's it going? Pretty good, Ken. A couple of teams interested in me. Great! Any offers you'd like? Not yet. Still a little low. Well, we'll keep talking. Makes them a little nervous like they might miss out on you. Thanks, Ken. No problem, Dan. We owe you for not being able to fit you in after all you've done here. Ok, talk to you later, Ken. Keep me posted, Dan. Seriously, best of luck to him. He's a good guy.

Dollar Happy Booster Seat night!

Oh, pleasepleaseplease let me be the Murphnapper. I looked back in the Murph got fired thread. They said that they let him go because Mickey and Ken were going to be broadcasting the rest of the games so Murph would not be needed. Obviously BS. Not trying to turn this into a Murph thread, however. (Ok- one more quick note: In that thread, I had jokingly suggested Jenna Osgood to replace Murph.) Ozzie has more of a subtle humour. Obviously he knows the game and the Wings. When he's between the glass he and Mickey should play well with each other. I wonder if he'll keep on goal-coaching when the team's on the road. Mickey didn't go on a lot of the longer trips for health reasons, but now that we're in the East, he probably won't need Ozzie to fill in in that capacity, so it pretty much leaves Ozzie for home games or if Ken or Mickey gets sick/can't make it. Should be a fun time. Bring on the hockey.

I love Ozzie, and I'm sure he'll do a good job, but.....didn't they give some song-and-dance that they were letting Murph go because they didn't need another guy? What gives?

Ouch. That's like saying Sammy's cuter than the Sedins so he must be ok. I'm actually ok with the gold outline on the maple leaf. The fake laces and shiny shoulders? Not so much.

Moanday it is. I'd rather that it wasn't, but what can you do? The person below me has had to measure a body part lately. (Had to measure for a new jersey. Don't get the wrong idea, folks.)

Imagine if all touchdowns counted. I'm not disagreeing with the officials' calls, but that "process of the catch" is the stupidest thing ever to come to any sport. Dumber than the trapezoid.

Cold and rainy here. Happy to have the rain though. We've got some sad-looking soybeans. The person below me is stunned that the Lions actually won today.
