  1. $3000 plus back taxes= $5200 in all.
  2. Unless you buy property from a chain-saw thief.
  3. True words. The only thing that might prompt a trade is if they're wanting a specific role filled or want a specific player. That's still doubtful.
  4. I'm not sure Mrazek is ready for the big show, and Howard can't play the percent of games he did last year in a full season, but I still wouldn't be averse to sending off Monster and a forward or two for picks/prospects if it gets us out or roster hell in the forward department. The only issue would be finding someone who would make that trade. I'm cautiously optimistic about Mrazek. I like what I saw in the limited time in which I saw it.
  5. The amnesty period is over, but he can still be bought out the normal way, although there are issues with cap if it's done now. The biggest fear I have with trading him is not that he has to waive the NTC, but that we'd need someone to trade him to.

Preds Managemant Charging Hawks Fans Double

Difference between Hawks fans and Preds fans: The Hawks are from the Windy City, so the drool lines go across their faces instead of straight down from the sagging mouth.

    The person below me game...

I'm too old to listen to that Kiddy crap. The person below me can find something in life to be happy about, if they put their mind to it.
  10. Yeah, "seriusuly". I'm pretty sure that I mentioned that it was a personal opinion. That means that I like him, but other people don't have to if they don't want to. I know, I know. That sort of thing meets with hostility around here, but I thought that the rest of my post had enough content that I could throw in a personal opinion.

Preds Managemant Charging Hawks Fans Double

From the linked article: So it's just for the pre-sale that the Hawks zip codes can't buy the tickets. That still doesn't forbid someone from another area from getting them. If the Hawks are as organized as LGW, this will be a minor inconvenience.

Preds Managemant Charging Hawks Fans Double

Lots of teams charge more when premium teams are in town. This is just the most convoluted plot I've seen. (Granted, I don't see a lot of plots.) I suppose, technically, it hurts the folks coming down from Chicago because they're less likely to want to see one of the other games, but if you can afford to travel from Chicago, stay in Nashville, and go to the game, you can probably afford to buy the ticket to the extra game and sell it later. The catch is that you have to find someone to sell it to that actually wants to watch the Preds play. That might be difficult in person, but with modern technology, it shouldn't be that bad. Savvy Hawks fans will realize that buying their extra ticket to a game played with a nearby opponent (St. Louis comes to mind) would make the re-sell easier. Savvy St. Louis fans are probably planning to buy their tickets on StubHub. At the end of the day, it's another gimmick that has gotten the Preds some free publicity. No news yet as to whether or not Blackhawks fans will be required to buy some of that melted Golden Ice.
  13. This. Given the number of forwards, we'd have to trade for picks/prospects or maybe a defenseman if he's an improvement over Lashoff. I don't see us getting some great forward for a bunch of our bottom guys.
  14. If Sammy's on LTIR, that opens a roster spot. Once he's off of it, send him down until he agrees to waive his NTC. For me, the only totally untouchables are Z, Pav, and Tootoo, the latter being personal preference and purely personal opinion. I understand that others may disagree. I'm ok with that. Assuming we don't re-sign Cleary or Brunner a lot depends on a healthy Helm. Since signs are looking good, maybe we might have to part with someone like Eaves, although I loathe to see him go. Since Miller and Andersson were just re-signed, I doubt they'll be moved. I hate to say it, but after Emmerton, who may well have some moderately decent trade value, Eaves is the next best option that they'll possibly consider. Sucks. I like Sammy too, but like Cleary, his time has come and gone. I'd even be willing to part with Johan, even though he did his share of goal-scoring. We might get a bit more in return for him if we find someone who will take on his contract. I wouldn't just settle for a pick and a bag of pucks for him; he'd need to bring something substantial. I have a feeling that no matter what happens, I'm going to be saying, "ah, dang. I'll miss him."

    Official Detroit Lions thread

I can't believe it's pre-season already. I try not to pay attention until the season starts. The Lions have a tendency to break my heart if I put too much stock in the games that don't count. Hopefully Bush will bring an added dimension that we've been lacking without the three-ring distraction that was Titus. Still can't believe Hanson won't be with us. That is mind-boggling. I can only imagine that it must be harder for the younguns who have never known another foot.

Buying First Wings Sweater - Advice wanted

Same with my Kronner. I wear it as a sign that I was a fan before he made it to the letter-men. Anyone can wear a current jersey, but only long-time fans can wear the old ones. Well, them and people who get really lucky at garage sales.

Not usually, but I work nights, so my breakfast can be any time. I do eat it a lot for whatever my after-work meal (taken around 6 or 7 a.m.) is called. Crispix FTW The person below me has worn a girdle. (Yes, boys, men can wear them too.)

    The person below me game...

It depends on other factors. Groceries I buy local because they're the closest to my house and are a good store. Everything else, it's Walmart or Menard's. Everything I want and need and then some under one roof. The person below me played with legos as a child.

No idea. Brenda said that they had all different teams from all different sports. I suspect that they were just cashing in on the traditional item and pandering to tourists. Considering that all of the faces are pretty much the same on all the dolls, I'm guessing that they just mass-produce them and then paint the proper colours along with the name and numbers of whomever is most popular at the time.

Another one bites the dust. Good enforcers are indeed a dying breed. The person below me has been bungee jumping, sky diving, or some other form of entertainment wherein one falls long distances for enjoyment.

My sisters went to the Czech Republic. They have these nesting dolls that fit one inside the other. There were Red Wings ones. The names on the back are (large to small): Hank, Kronner, Dats, Flip, Mule They had them for a bunch of teams. I tried to re-size the pic, but for some reason, it only lets me copy the original. Sorry.
