  1. How about keep the shootout format, but instead of it being a penalty shot, have 2 d-men and the goalie on one side and 3 forwards on the other. The forwards enter the zone, the d can't steal the puck-only block shots, and the play ends when either a goal is scored or the goalie covers the puck. Kind of a team shootout, with no time for a spin-o-rama.
  2. I read this, chuckled, and thought, "Yeah, but would he play center or left wing?" Now I'm actually wondering about it.
  3. Really? What next? NHL bans coloured mouthguards? I agree with whomever it was back there who said, "Just let 'em play."

Only in Margaritas, especially strawberry ones. Then, bring it on, and don't stop until I'm cute. The person below me has made home made bread.

I think oak, but cherry can look nice in the right setting. Bigger internet addiction: Porn or hockey?
  6. Maybe he's just posturing in hopes of being talked down to 4 rather than being offered 3.5. Or maybe he's letting other teams know that he's available. In this year's market, he shouldn't have trouble finding a home for more money. Too bad. I like the guy.

It depends on the shade of blue. If it's a light blue or kind of a turquoise, then definitely blue. If it's really dark, I can't tell the difference anyway. Dental floss from the spool or on one of those horse-shoe-shaped toothpicks?
  9. This is longer than I expected. I really thought he'd only want to do a year or two at a time at his age. But, come on, we all know that real reason that he's staying in Detroit is so he can keep Dr. Rahmani. Thrilling day in RedWingsLand. And the people rejoice.

    The person below me game...

You mean immediately outside the house, or just not indoors? The only thing that surprised me was that an old friend who I haven't talked to in forever texted me to say happy birthday, but that was inside my house. Oh, and I guess I was surprised by Boston shutting out Chicago, which definitely happened outside my house. The person below me owns more than one bathrobe.
  13. http://www.mlive.com/redwings/index.ssf/2013/06/red_wings_captain_henrik_zette.html Good for him. I knew he did the smoke detector thing, but I didn't know he provided drinking water for people in Africa. He just keeps getting better every time I hear something about him.

There's something. You can tell if you work nights with the public. I have no idea if it's normal, paranormal, or somewhere in between. The person below me enjoys a nice, cold, fresh melon on a hot day.

Zetterberg wins NHL Foundation Player Award

Not to mention that by giving them water, it is enabling the kids there to spend hours in school instead of spending hours each day carrying water. It opens up a whole new life for them. Z also supports the Children's hospital, as well as other local things.

Not generally, but I do wear sweaters with long sleeves if I need to look presentable. The person below me will be traveling this summer for vacation.

    Talking Tootoo

Babcock's specific comment was about him acting after the whistle. Sure we want him to be an agitator, but not one that causes us penalties. He can play his game and just time his actions better. Some coaches like the agitating to go on in the hopes of drawing the other team to take a penalty or losing their concentration. If Babs wants Toots to keep it between the whistles, he'll adapt. He can still be a hard-hitting, high-energy pest who can throw down when needed.
  18. Hair colour has nothing to do with aging. I started turning grey at age 16. My grandfather was pure white by age 30, and it didn't stop him from being in the Navy until he was almost 50 (WWII), and fathering my dad when he was over 40. It's hereditary. I don't think he will age faster than anyone else.

I don't see him gone unless they include him in a big trade. He provides something that no one else does. This first season with the team (actually a half season) gave him a chance to see how he fits in and get used to our system. If Babcock wants him to adjust his game (the "after the whistle" thing) he has a chance to do it this year. If he doesn't fit in with what Babcock wants, then maybe he's on the trade block, but I can't see them moving him just because Babs didn't play him one year in the playoffs.
  20. YES! YES! YES! There is neither font size nor colour suitable to express my joy. Great PK guy, low price, can chip in some offense, the line of Eaves, Emmy, and Drew was a very good 4th line- better than some teams' second. If we've met our match on the top lines and are basically cancelling the other team out, these guys can get it done. I'm thrilled beyond words. I like this guy. I like this deal. Happy day. This could possibly be, although if a great deal comes along, I'm sure he'll be in the running. Otherwise, see where we stack up against the new competition and fill in our weak spots from there.

    Good job Vancouver!

Yep. My cousin was working as an engineer for Boeing at that time. He said other engineers were taking the afternoon off to go "shopping" since they could go get free electronics during the riots. Scary stuff. Once something gets started, people just figure they will blend into the crowd. There's a "they can't get everyone" mentality that makes the odds seem in favour of not getting caught. People who wouldn't normally do this by themselves all of a sudden get brave. It kind of makes you wonder about what we'd act like without societal pressure. I wonder just how much of that was planned. Either they would have won it or lost it that night, and either way, the riots could have been blamed on the game. Emotions would have been running high. Good thing for security cameras. It's cost the province a lot of money, but I'm glad that people are finding they can't get away with things like this.

    This or That

Oh, the choice! I love all sorts of both. I'm getting seriously hungry just trying to make the choice. Since I work nights, I tend to mix them. I'll go ever so slightly with dinner just because there are more choices. Oh, gosh, I am so craving pancakes right now! And chicken. And french toast. And spaghetti. And hash browns, Oh, my. Cut your own hair, have a friend do it, or go to a salon/shop?

Anxious for the hockey season to get here, but I'll take just a wee respite from the ND winter, if you don't mind. The person below me knows how to play backgammon.
