  1. Abby has taken more of a vocal role with the media. He also seems to be more of a locker room voice as he matures. I think he gets the next A. Larkin will get one eventually unless he is just a flash-in-the-pan, which I doubt will be the case. He certainly looks like the real deal. I hope his locker is next to Z's like Z's was next to Stevie's back in the day.

  2. In all honesty, that's why I don't go into the GDT unless we're running away with a game. I hit the GDT to admire Mikey & Co's handiwork and maybe some pre-game comments.

There's a huge difference between "That was a bad turnover; X has been bad these last few weeks." and "X ******* sucks! If Kenny resigns him, Kenny should be fired! Kenny ******* sucks! This whole team ******* sucks!" and on and on with the sucking posts.

It gets to be like a pile-on when everyone is doing it, and that's all that's being done. Sometimes I even ignore the people I usually watch with if it gets too bad.

If the conversation is like a bunch of friends having a beer and talking about the game, that's great. If it sounds like a bunch of drunk girlfriends bitching about their men, it's not so fun. I can't speak for a mod, but I'd bet that's the distinction that was made.

  3. Ok. I decided to go with the players' jersey numbers.

    Phase 1-all players

    # x2 per goal

    # per assist

    # per shutout. $10.11

    Phase 2- hamster-namesake players

    # x10 per goal $5.40

    #x5 per assist $5.35

Phase 3- guys with names that are the same as guys I've named a hamster after

    # x2 per point. $3.98

Phase 4- Abby kicked butts in the first two games, so an extra 8¢ per game. 16¢

    Grand total: $25.00

Will send via paypal when I remember the address.

I recall "wingdiva" or "wingsdiva" and then there's something else...

    Help me out here, please.

  4. Not the be-all and end-all, but there is the factor of familiarity. We knew the West teams better because we played them more often, and we played them in the playoffs. Notice how we're more familiar with the Lightning than, say, Montreal.

I think after a few more years, we'll be as aware of each East team's strengths and weaknesses as we were of the West's.

Then, maybe, we can fix the rest.
