It's been a nice start. Incidentally, has CPrice or any of the Blues fans been around lately to lecture us on how we're just a mediocre team this year? Actually, I don't think we've lost since that flame-fest a couple weeks ago.
-
As a couple have already said, laughing at other message boards for panicking is pretty ironic. But still, Vancouver's start has been quite awful.
-
The real question is, does Ozzie have a shot at the Hall of Fame? I would think he'd need about a hundred more wins and possibly another Cup as a starter. He's never been seen as a legendary netminder. But if he keeps quietly putting up numbers, who knows?

Good freaking grief, you guys are obsessed. I've also been to many games at Ponda and Staples, and I've never heard anything like that. Yes, Ducks fans are still learning (some of them), but jeez, give it a rest. You guys are still bitter about last year, and guess what? So am I! I was there at Game 6! But this constant irrational Duck-bashing (especially when, as Third Man said, we can't fill our own arena right now) is becoming ridiculous. And don't write off the Ducks yet this year, either. It's the traditional Stanley Cup hangover, but I expect them to be right in the hunt come April. Unfortunately.

He might be worth a shot. Still, I'd have a hard time seeing him in a Winged Wheel. A hat-trick in the SC Finals would help me acclimatize, though.
-
Apologies, Ian. I was trying to quote Gcom, not you. Maybe after another five years, I'll figure the board out.
-
No goalie who is good enough to start in the National Hockey League is a joke. There are thousands (heck, millions?) of players at lower levels around the world who would kill to be that good. Legace wasn't the answer, but he certainly wasn't a "joke." Show a modicum of respect.

I was thinking the same thing. Oh well. At least it went our way this time. Another good win.
-
The Wings will score more goals than the opposition. That is all.
-
That was fantastic.
-
Good win. We're picking up some momentum now.

Rangers 3-0 Celtic. Arsenal just kicking off. Hope they can stay top of the league today.

I was at the game, and it's the least nervous I've ever been during a hockey game. The Wings really dominated the last two periods, even though the shots on goal were even. Kings fans aren't much fun right now; Staples used to be a really hostile place, but with the Kings so bad the last few years, the fans are almost docile now. There was only one "Red Wings Suck" chant last night. The TV timeouts were horrible; the Kings promotion department needs to streamline their giveaways, because they held up the game multiple times; you could see the refs and players were exasperated. All in all, a good night, and a good win.
-
The nice thing about this game is that the Ducks played last night too; usually, when the Wings come to So-Cal, they end up playing the second leg of the local doubleheader at a disadvantage because they've played the night before and the Ducks or Kings haven't. This time, it's all even. No excuses either way. I will be there with The Nation once again. It's been a long time since we went 2-0 in SoCal. Hopefully we can do it tonight.
-
We might as well just start another third-jersey thread, while we're at it.
-
I will be present, along with other members of the Nation. No predictions. Just win.
-
No kidding. Remember when we started 3-4 last year? This board just about imploded.
-
Didn't the Avs' sellout streak end a couple years ago?
-
It's ridiculously early, but I'm quite optimistic about this season. These first few games haven't done much to dissuade me from that, either. Good win, boys.

Bill Wirtz memorial/moment of silence booed by Blackhawk fans
Shockwave180 replied to Wings_Fan_In_Exile's topic in General
I've felt for a long time that Hawks fans are the most bitter, poisoned-sounding fans in the NHL. It's hard to blame them at times, but as Harold said, booing a dead man because he ran a sports team poorly is a horribly skewed perspective. -
Well, that's it. Another season down the drain. I predict European Soccer-style relegation. Ontario Hockey League, here we come.

Section 315, Row 7, Seat 22. I'll see y'all there!
-
I like it. Sharp looking logo and sweaters. Like the throwback alternate logo as well. Well-played.
-
Wings-Leafs? That doesn't happen anymore, son. Yes, the NHL is bad at marketing. In other news, water is often wet, and the sky tends to be blue.

Sorry, Duckette. You've been a pretty cool poster here. Ignore the idiots. And congrats.
