That, my friends, was an old-fashioned beatdown. Outstanding.

You know, I try to keep these things in perspective, and I'm usually one of the last people to say, "I hate that guy." But right now, I can't help it. I hate Chris Pronger. Always have. Probably always will.

I had a baseball game that evening, and I was Tivo-ing Game 7. All during my game, I'm thinking about the Wings. I'm out at shortstop, bases loaded, two outs, and I'm thinking, "Jeez, what's going on, I'll bet Roy's stoning us again, jeez, we can't lose to them again, crap..." Anyway, our game ends, and as we're packing up our stuff and heading out of the dugout, our coach looks at his cell phone (he was one of the first people to subscribe to moble sports updates, when they were first available and cost a fortune per month), and says, "Red Wings beat Colorado SEVEN-NOTHING!" I couldn't believe it. I made him repeat the score, just to make sure. Then I yelled, "I'm in Heaven!!" My teammates gave me weird looks. I didn't care. Then I went home, watched the game, and just laughed the whole time. Great memories.

"Perry said he was gonna...Oh...Oh, that's just wrong...Hey, timeout, that's just...Ewwwwwww..."

Oh, and Ducks fans have absolutely no business whining about luck after that series in '03. Because they got every single bounce that year. It was unreal.

How great was it to see Giguere lose that game-winning puck in his massive, billowing jersey and oversized equipment? Priceless. Took me all of two minutes to be reminded why I can't stand the Ducks. Every time we play them, it's low-scoring, defensive hockey against a goalie who's excellent and thoroughly boring to watch. The Ducks look very strong, though. Dom stole one tonight.

Ditto to what's already been said. Kings and Ducks fans hate each other, and NoCal hates SoCal. However, there are a lot of casual bandwagoners who get into whichever team is making a playoff run (in any sport). Lots of casual sports fans who don't really follow a team until a team generates some excitement. It's annoying, but what're ya gonna do.

Welcome Ducks. I'll be at Game 6 (if necessary, of course). Gonna be intense...

I'm concerned that Calgary could score more goals than the Wings in Game 3. That would make it very difficult for us to win.

Great game by the Wings, and good to see the Joe looking mostly full and alive on a nationally-televised game. It's been quite a while since I've seen that, actually. Strange, but true.
