    Huh, I could have sworn....

I am as bummed as anyone it wont be televised. But people the internet is not magic. If not television crew is filming it it cant be posted to the internet. Sopcast et al, rely on someone broadcasting it so they can stream it. Now if one of our LGW, has an HD video camera and a satellite dish, and wants to make it streamable to my house, I am happy to sling box it to my LGW peeps... Radio is on WXYT

Dan Boyle Traded To San Jose

I am surprised to hear everyone saying how San Jose got so much better. I live in the Bay area and unless they are playing my wings I support the Sharks. I think this is a break even deal for losing Campbell. I know Boyle is better defensively and on a better team will probably look even better. But if you consider losing carle and campbell, and getting Blake (slow and old) and Boyle, who between them tie up almost as much money as Lidstrom and Rafalski. Boyle was a -29 last year and had wrist surgery(always a concern) and they are commiting 7mil a year to him for I think 5 more years. This doesnt seem like a huge upgrade to me. Its about time San Jose focused on their blueline. Always a bunch of 3-4 guys and no 1-2 guys, but this is a ridiculous amount of cash for these guys. I can understand Boyle, but Blake and Boyle and that amount of money is nuts. Having said all that I think if Boyle settles in here and the wrist doesnt bother him, he could be a good fit. Just have to hope to upgrade Blake next year.... Finally Wings defeat San Jose in the WCF on their way to the cup. That my dream every year.

    Enforcer Signings

I still havent given hope that Mike Grier will end up in back home. I live in the Bay Area and get to see the Sharks play about 10 times a year (probably average only 6 wings games living out here) and I tell you Grier is the heart and soul of the Sharks. He is such a Babcock kind of player. 100% every shift, can skate, hit, pk, has a decent touch around the net. The guy has such a crazy work ethic, just never gives up on a shift. By far my favorite non-wing forward. I know people like scorers but to me this guy deserves to be Wing and play at home. edit: I think he is in the last year of his contract this upcoming year. So maybe next year we can get him...

    Franzen Out For The Season

Lotta haters, came at you pretty hard. Vindicated for sure. Glad he was able to come back, and most importantly glad there looks to be no long term issues for the Mule....
  7. I can't remember what the rules are for being officially on the cup winning roster. I know if you play X number of games in the post-season, and I think some number of regular season games. This guy was huge for us this year and such a team guy. I was just curious if anyone remembers the rules and if Arron will get his due at the end. Thanks and Go Wings

    Franzen out for Games 2, 3, 4

Anyword on Franzen? I sure hope the mule is ok. I am not sure they should even play him if he is healthy, just let him heal up fully. But just am worried for the guy and am dying to hear if he is ok. Babcock said in the post-game that he would hear after they left AAC. But no word publically yet????

Respect for the Red Wings and their fans

I have to go with Sakic over Hasek. When Joe was shown on the board congratulating Stevie Y on Stevie's jersey retirement night the place went nuts. And for us to respect an Av really says something. I think comparing trophies is flawed for the reasons already mentioned. I think they were both great at their position, but what swings it fo me is the way they conducted themselves. While the new Hasek is way more mature and a good team player, he hasn't always been. He was the reason Buffalo won any of their games for a lot of years, but he was not the voice or face of the franchise because of his demeanor. Dont get me wrong most of the great goalies have been loony tunes, but still Sakic has always been a consumate professional, great leader and great team guy. I am sad everyday that he brought all this to the avs. Frankly I still refer to him as a Nordique.

your top 5 favorite non-red wing players today?

I get to see the Sharks alot, so for workman attitude, I gotta say Mike Grier is my favorite non-wing. I think this guy would be invited to Babcock's Thanksgiving dinner

    RWNW PONDA INVASION

I was at the Sharks game, and due to lucky scheduling I am working in SoCal this week. So I will be at both the Tuesday against the Kings, and Wednesday against the Ducks.... Almost more Hockey then I used to see in Michigan. I will be in 222/R, and if I can make it fast enough, will come see the pre-skate and look for you all. I will be in my Knostantinov Jersey Go Wings!

    Ducks

Anaheim is only leading the Pacific because they have 3 games in hand on the sharks. As long as the Sharks go on the raod (where they can win) they should win 2 of 3 and be ahead of the Ducks. I dont think todays NHL.com reflects todays pounding of Anaheim by Dallas, so they wont be leading the division long. Also, I saw the game last night live, and the bigger Sharks looked horrible. Which was great for me in my Wings jersey :-)

    Shanahan

They can technically afford him, but not when you look deeper. They have Lundqvist as an RFA currently making nothing. They have to get him signed to a long contract or save enough to fend off offer sheets, they also have about 5 other rfa's that they eiother need to resign or replace... Hard to imagine with what i calculate (rough numbers based on outsidethegarden.com ) as 8mil left they can afford anyone over 1 -1.5 mil/yr.
