Perhaps we'd understand better if you'd just rap your posts?
-
Seriously? No.

Get one that fits.

Iglesias is tremendous in the field. The problem is, he's close to an automatic out at the plate. He makes Ramon Santiago look like a Hall-of-Famer at the plate. Iggy has a .464 OPs in July, following a couple of months of unsustainable BABIP.
-
Thanks for that.
-
Wait, where's the "ignore" button?
-
It's sabermetrics, for hockey. I think it's probably best to attempt to understand it, before you summarily disregard it. There was a time in baseball where looking deeper into the numbers was disregarded as well. Not anymore.

signed Brendan Smith signs 2-year, $2.525m contract with Red Wings
stillwater replied to Matt's topic in General
Like I said, pretty close to the Muzzin deal. Same term, a little more iron. It's 2.5 total ... not per. -
Including 225 with other teams.
-
Sure, just to attempt to understand your logic. Now you're saying that Johnson helped a Coyotes playoff push on the basis of 2 games? Smith helps them to 10 points in April, but those 3 points in games that Johnson played were the key? On the basis of those 2 games, you think Johnson earned a 4-year deal? That about right?
-
Jake Muzzin of the Kings got 2-years at $1 million per year. Can't see Smith expecting anything more than that.
-
He played 4 games, 2 in Jan and 2 in April ... and he helped push the Coyotes into contention ... in 4 games? That's two awesome 2-game stretches!
-
That's pretty much what he's getting, give or take $500,00 a year.

Yep, The Turk is dead too, and so is the guy who killed him. Meanwhile, I agree, bad timing on the part of Kovalchuk.

The good thing about him filing, is it precludes teams from going after him with an offer sheet.

Jiri Hudler's arbitration hearing in 2009 was a unique situation. He had signed a contract with a Russian team, which the NHL initially claimed was invalid because he had filed for arbitration with the Red Wings. Hudler's hearing determined his salary should he return to the NHL and was just a formality, since he and the Red Wings had agreed to a figure before the case was heard by an arbiter. http://www.mlive.com/redwings/index.ssf/2013/07/second-year_defenseman_brendan.html

Something tells me that the Bruins may have been concerned about ultimately losing their #1 goalie.
-
Ok, that's one of the strangest sentences I've ever read.
-
Filed for, didn't take them to arbitration. Filed for, didn't get to arbitration. Obviously there's still time for Smith to do the same.
-
Reality time. Obviously, given the need for the Bruins to sign Rask, or the need for the Red Wings to sign Brunner, I'd take the Rask-Bruins deal all day long.
-
Last time I checked, yes. However, we know what Rask singed for, but we still don't know for certain what Brunner is asking for, or will ultimately get. Of the two contracts, I'd take Rask's. All things being equal.
-
Perhaps because the Wings don't usually have to go to arbitration with their players. Aside from Kyle Quincey last season, the previous Red Wing to take them to arbitration was Ray Sheppard in 1995. Sheppard was then dealt to San Jose in the Larionov deal, if memory serves correctly.
-
Just not in the case of Damien Brunner?

If by "bullying" you mean hurting people for no good reason, then you have it backwards my friend. It was Montreal who started all of the cheap goon nonsense when behind by 5-goals vs Ottawa highlighted by the head-butt, and aggressor penalties PK Subban received for his unjustified attack on Kyle Turris. So you think Parros will help Montreal in the playoffs?
