What is "punked" anyway? Is that like the old TV show where you think one thing is happening, but it's really something completely different that's going on? If so, sure, that applies here.

Montreal won 3 of 4 regular season games in 2013. In this decade the Bruins are 12-17 in games vs Montreal. I remember Parros with the Ducks, don't you.

Ordinary People - Neil Young
-
It's not that insane, just ask the Mets.
-
It's just that, at times, he didn't play those games very well. I like his upside ... he should be very good, in time.
-
I wasn't suggesting they can't re-sign him, it's probably a case where they're going to move someone else out. Check their salary chart on Capgeek, they've got a ton of good UFA's in the next two years, can't keep them all.
-
The Bruins are now out of Cap space and facing Patrice Bergeron as a UFA after this season.
-
Yeah, Like Crymson said, it's not like the Eastern coaches, some of whom have coached in the West are telling their Eastern conference players, some of whom have also have played in the West, "look, I want you to hit those guys harder than you did when you played in the West"
-
It would be hard for me to believe that you don't understand the concept of small sample size. The playoffs was 14 games. Links and tables have been post showing no discernible difference in size, hitting or fighting in the East and West. Years of stats is a trend, 14 games is dumb luck ...

What evidence to you have to back up your preposterous claims?
-
Lindros wouldn't go to the Soo either, after going #1 overall. The trade from the Soo to Oshawa landed the Soo enough decent players to win the Memorial Cup. Lindros' parents were the evil hockey parents that give minor hockey a bad name.
-
Yep, two guys named Serge, both in speedos.
-
It's pretty irrelevant. He's going in 1st ballot anyway.
-
I'm sorry, but if the stats don't tell the "story", what does? This is beginning to enter the bizzaro world class of arguments.

http://mirtle.blogspot.ca/2013/01/2013-nhl-teams-by-weight-height-and-age.html Is there really any extreme discernible advantage, anywhere? Detroit is taller on average than Boston ... surprised?
-
Just like they were able to "manhandle" the Blackhawks?
-
10 other teams also dumped Sillinger in one way or another. He played for 12 different teams in his NHL career. Jason York may have been the better player in that one.

Why is it hard to type it all. You have no problem typing all of your frustrations. I'm not a Brunner fanboy, so I don't care about him. I'd prefer Cleary on a line with Andy and Gus. At least Cleary can help in the defensive zone and kill penalties if needed. Brunner played in the Swiss league for quite awhile. No NHL team wanted him until the Wings came calling. IMO, he's already had the best season he will ever have in the NHL. He's not made for this league, barring adding some major bulk. It's Andersson, btw ... I think if you can spell players names, it adds to your credibility. Thanks for calming down.

You have no desire to see what Zetterberg and Datsyuk can do together over an entire year? I know I do. I would not buyout Quincey ... he played very well in the playoffs and is off the books after this season. His money will go to resigning Dekeyser. You like Nyquist and Tatar, enough that you want them in the top six, but are willing to trade one in a deal for Ryan? I would have sold high on Tatar, I'll give you that ... but I don't want Nyquist in that deal.
-
Given up what for Bobby Ryan? So much for "detail". If you don't sign Lecavalier, who you've said is the best FA deal thus far, and Helm is healthy, who's the #2 center?
-
Well hell freezes over, we agree on something. Do you see anyone like Brendan Shanahan listed within this thread? A 40-goal scorer who can fight? BTW, the Shanahan trade is the greatest trade the Wings made in my lifetime. Let me ask you something ... the '97 SC team had Joey Kocur on that squad. One of the greatest one-punch KO artists the NHL has ever seen. Who do you think the Flyers were more concerned about, Kocur, or Vladimir Konstantinov ... who never fought?
-
I forgot the Datsyuk - Perry fight. That meant something as well.
-
Don't worry about Sammy, he'll never play another game in a Wings uniform. They'll find a way to buy him out, or have him taken care of Jimmy Hoffa style. Or, get him to waive his NTC and ship him to a team trying to get to the cap floor.
-
You're going to have to promise yourself to one day watching an NHL game.
-
Actually, no. It's abundantly clear that you're not going to be happy with anything this team does. Why don't you just tell us what you'd have done this off-season ... in detail. Then we can all have some fun cutting up your idea like a pile of paper dolls. Have at it big fella.
