  1. Oh good. Kindl will be a bargain throughout the length of this entire deal. One of the most improved players on the team this past season.

Jonathan Ericsson - should we consider trading him?

    No.

    What does that mean, really?

    2013 Offseason Thread

Canes would be insane to trade the #5 pick for Smith or Quincey. They could simply take a defenseman with that pick.
  5. So Flip failed in Detroit because there was too much pressure on him?
  6. Just so I understand the logic. Filppula would be a "great" second line center if he were to play for Vancouver, but he can't do that in Detroit? I guess I don't understand how he can be "great" there, but not here.

    Brunner Contract Talks

Yeah, you've said it four times in just one thread. We get it. 3-years, 2.75 per year.

Winnipeg slated to host 2016 outdoor game

Oh? 2016 you say? What's that, 3 years from now? Die thread.

Cap might be worse than expected.

Are we allowed to articulate opinions on this post, or will they be deleted? I have nothing damning to say, but I think you know that as a Moderator, if you post something like that on the main board, it will elicit responses.

What would you give up for Malkin?

Malkin will get an extension somewhere under Crosby's $8.7 million. They'll sign Letang as well, under those two, keep Neal and everyone else will become expendable.

What would you give up for Malkin?

When was the last time a young superstar like Malkin was traded for prospects while his team was still a contender for Lord Stanley`s Cup.

    Detroit: Circa June 2018...

Do they really want small Euro`s, or are they drafting who they think is the best player, or at least the most upside. From 2012: Mike McKee, D – Lincoln Stars (USHL) 5th round, 140th overall Height: 6'5 Weight: 229 lbs James De Haas, D – Toronto Lakeshore Patriots (OJHL) 6th round, 170th overall Height: 6'3 Weight: 197 lbs Rasmus Bodin, C/LW – Ostersunds IK J18 (J18 Elit – Swe. Jr.) 7th round, 200th overall Height: 6'6 Weight: 207 lbs

What would you give up for Malkin?

Nice oxymoron. Jordan Staal isn't even in the same conversation as Malkin. I'd love to see Malkin in a Wings uni too ... but I can't see any GM trading a player of that quality while still in a playoff position.
  15. What's the ticket situation like in Grand Rapids? Will it be sold out? Is it worth the 5-hour drive, or will I be left out in the cold?

    Detroit: Circa June 2018...

Do you think the Wings brass will just draft the biggest players, or will they draft the best players? I don't think you enter the draft looking for "need", if you're the Wings. You want the best available player ... right?

What would you give up for Malkin?

Seems to me the only way Shero even contemplates dealing Malkin, is if the Pens are out of a playoff spot at the 2014 trade deadline. That scenario seems unlikely at best.

What would you give up for Malkin?

That link does nothing to suggest he's "on the block". It discusses his impending free-agency.

Thanks for that. Seems like much ado about nothing.

    Franzen Buyout?

How many times are you going to say virtually the same thing? Look, it's extremely unlikely that Franzen will be bought out ... the various reasons being given throughout this thread. Franzen may get traded, or he may not. His contract would be tough to move, given it's length. The Red Wings would likely have to absorb a long contract in any trade scenario. Dupuis or anyone else may be a better player than Franzen, but you're not going to prove that to anyone here.

    Franzen Buyout?

Last time Pascal Dupuis scored 30 goals, he was in junior with Shawinigan.
