I can't believe the Flames would go down the "Olli" road again. That management team should be shot if they sign Jokinen.
-
Ottawa is unlike say the Habs or the Leafs. If the team is bad, they'll boo in Montreal and Toronto, but in Ottawa, they'll stop buying tickets.
-
They have 3 goalies signed for this season and they signed Leighton. The Leighton signing ended their search for a "better" goalie.
-
The worst deal of the day IMO, was Ottawa signing an injury riddled Gonchar, who quite frankly looked like he'd given up against Montreal in the playoffs, to a 35+ 3-year, $5.5 million contract. They now have the defensive equivalent to the enigmatic and equally useless Alexei Kovalev. ... and to boot, they've very got little cap room left.
-
Penguins have a little over 2 million in cap space left, the least amount of any team not named the Flyers.
-
Paul Martin gets a substantial raise, for 5-years no less, for being hurt all year and sucking in the playoffs. Well done Pittsburgh.
-
Boogard signed just to beat up Wade Redden.
-
The Penguins are setting themselves up for some cap purgatory.
-
I'll echo a couple of sentiments: It's good that he's coming back. I wish he'd play with a little more grit, the way he used to. He seems almost afraid to hurt anyone anymore, and his game suffers because of it. It's true, he likely could have gotten a lot more on the open market, so I'm not bothered by the raise.

If you had to predict what the 2010-2011 Roster WILL look like

Sadly ironic that you ask people their roster opinions, and then crap all over the opinions when posted. -
No one read it anyway.

Jaromir Jagr has resigned with Avangard in the KHL for next season.

This is not impossible. If the 2004 Red Sox can beat the hated Yankees after going down 0-3, the Red Wings can do it. Red Sox player Kevin Millar, when asked in October 2004 what he thought of his team's chances after going down 0-3, simply said ... "Don't let us win tonight". Don't let us win tonight ... that is all.
-
Ericsson will be be part of this team going forward, and he's no worse than Lebda ... provided he never gets within 20 feet of the opposing net for the duration of these playoffs.

Pretty clearly a typo. Unless Bertuzzi is scratched, he's on line #2. Thank you! My confidence has skyrocketed. How do you manage to watch all of the Wings games and all of Carey Price's starts at the same time? Obviously this one's in the bag. 4-1 Wings!

You started the same thread 2 days ago, just changed the title. http://www.letsgowings.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=64973 What's wrong, the other one got no love?
-
Datsyuk is playing pretty well in the last month or so, Zetterberg, not so much. Maybe it's to due with the fact that they're stuck with Bertuzzi.
-
Rarely complain about players, but Bertuzzi's the ultimate underachiever. The numbers he's put up, playing with the best players the Wings have, are brutal. Bert's the only guy I wish had been moved today.

2010 NHL Trade Deadline Thread - March 3rd, 3:00 PM ET

Lidstrom was drafted in 1989 ... before Hakan Andersson began scouting for the Wings. Holland is also the "guy" that got Rafalski, Cleary, Lilja, Drake and Chris Osgood ... all contributors to a Stanley Cup in 2008. Sometimes the best trade you make is the one you don't make. Look, just tell us who (or what), should have been traded and for whom (what). -

So, by your "rationale" ... a GM has nothing to do with scouting, or the team playing on the ice that wins the CUP. Ok. WTF does the GM do? Interviews? Choose dressing room music? -

When was the last time a Sutter "gm-ed" team won the Stanley Cup? -

When was the last time Sutter took someone with the 210th pick in the entry draft and that player became one of the best players in the league? Stop cherry-picking. -
Yeah, those 4 players should dominate and bring home the Gold for Denmark. This is just a dumb opening post.
