Obviously the mothers of Wade Belak, Rick Rypien and Derek Boogaard should seek your kind out for counselling since it's just good old fashioned entertainment ... like the gladiators and such. The only good thing about that particular brawl is that the kid in his 1st NHL game, with his family in attendance didn't get hurt.

I'm concerned that your dinosaur has run off with your paradigm. Hockey everywhere is trying to distance itself from pointless line brawls ... the types that exist only because the talent pool is so watered down, that there is room on most teams for a cement head like Westgarth who simply cannot play hockey at the NHL level, therefore is forced to fight to make a living. It's a joke. It was fun for a minute with the Flyers and Bruins in the 70's, but it got old and stupid really quickly.

The Calgary - Vancouver thing was a complete joke and a disgrace to the game. Both coaches are proven morons from past actions and that didn't change here.

I'm going to agree with the opening post. Without all the injuries many of the young guys from GR would never have gotten the chance to play this season. They're learning quickly and they've been fun to watch.

Perhaps you should take into account recent history. Or perhaps any history at all ... Jimmy Howard himself became the Red Wing starting goaltender in 2009, after only 9 career regular season NHL games.

As well as the added bonus of not causing lifelong severe head problems for some Wing fans.

Yes, for a small fee you can take the tunnel from Windsor and it'll drop you off a short walk to the Joe through the conference center. The station is downtown Windsor, close to the waterfront, and most likely very close to where you're staying. They run buses over to the rink every 10 minutes or so ... so you can't miss them. Just hustle back to the pickup spot after the game. You'll be fine ... have fun.

If ultimately the guy can play on the 3rd or 4th line, and produce with something other than his fists, then I'd welcome him with open arms. Hard to say. Regarding trade scenarios, I'm hip if there's even a smidgen of possibility, based on anything at all tangible. Hypothetical dream scenarios don't belong on the main board ... but that's not my call. Again, I don't think there's a chance at a Howard trade ... at all. I joined the forum to read and discuss news about my favorite NHL team. It's not really my thing to attempt to begin discussions about the possibility of pigs flying to Mars. There is virtually zero chance that the Red Wings are entertaining the idea of, or would at this juncture, trade Jimmy Howard. At least some of you realize that, right?
