At least we found all the "missing" Red Wings fans. They're all at the other rinks, not JLA. Detroit has the second highest average away attendance (with 4 Central Division teams in the bottom 10 for attendance). Pittsburgh is the only team that is higher, but I wouldn't necessarily attribute that to Crosby, the Winter Classic attendance probably bolstered their numbers, I'd be willing to bet that the Wings would beat them if you take out the Winter Classic. On the whole racism issue...that argument doesn't really work because it doesn't explain football. I would also argue that it is hockey's biggest obstacle in becoming anything other than a niche sport in the US.

Hey, I'm happy that the NHL has better attendance than the NBA but I will not tolerate any Pistons bashing. I support ALL Detroit sports, Lions included *sobs*. Sadly this in NO WAY means hockey is more popular than basketball. Pro basketball may not be well attended but lets not kid ourselves, this month is March Madness, all we will be hearing about is basketball, basketball and more basketball. Everybody and their mom follows college basketball. I was even on HFboards and just found out that Canada of all places knows about March Madness. Why Canada cares about US college basketball I don't understand, but that just goes to show you how big it is.

I think dumbing down the system should have been done when we had the entire Grand Rapids Griffins. The problem was, Datsyuk seems to be the ONLY forward willing to go in after the puck once it has been chipped in, oh and Dallas Drake, but unfortunately his offensive skills are not all there. I wanted Drake and Datsyuk on the same line. Because at least they would be able to keep the puck in the zone. As for the Flip haters. He had a goal and an assist against Edmonton. He had won the game and then the unfortunate clearing attempt...

I only partly blame Sammy, but I also blame Babs. WHY would you put him on the point! How many times did his shots get blocked thus creating an odd man rush? The least he could do in these instances is let it rip and hopefully take the player out. Never mind. Why Brunnstrom?

I would say I hope it happens and we meet in the playoffs to renew the rivalry, but nope. Earlier in the season I said I wished Chicago would actually get better so we could renew THAT rivalry and I have regretted it ever since.
