If I'm asleep during a game, we tend to lose (SJ last year). If I start to watch it THEN fall asleep, we tend to win. Apart from that wear my Datsyuk t-shirt to bed and my Tigers Road hat all day.

I think the win last night will spur them on more than the blow-out last year. You could see it in their body language when SJ tied it 3-3. It was a look of... Crap we need to do something here, and show we're the better team. Then for arguably the first time this series, all lines clicked and Helm finally showed up with what he can do. I think almost throwing game 4 away is going to give them a bigger kick than when they won game 4 incredibly easily

TBH, not this years Sharks. If they keep this play there's no telling how far they'll go. WCF should really decide the SCF winner. Tampa is the only real shot the east have. I say YES, they can win. I question whether they want to, however. Above all that, after the last few games, I wonder whether they deserve to

Was there a goal missed yesterday? (game 2)
Wing Across The Pond replied to Rick Zombos Ghost's topic in General
Hmmmmm getting very fishy... Then again I think it just serves Franzen right for deciding to only shoot the puck in the last 5-10 minutes -
Shanahan beard ^ It just grows like that Hear Hear. I believe that we have two home games in a row, which could not only tie the series 2-2, but could take great momentum back to SJ for a potential to seal it on home ice. I also believe that, regardless of the score in a game or a series, I will always will the Wings on to victory.

Hmmmm you Sir, are right I believe... they did show an overhead last night and from what I remember there was nothing conclusive. Basically commentators said Franzen messed up by trying to shoot too early and not taking another half step toward the goal. Guess we'll now never know! -

Have to admit, watched the game on TSN last night, showed extensive replays including the overhead. Puck never went in. Never even went near the post so that isn't a puck at 9:40. What happened was he tried wrapping it around too soon, and instead of getting it into the post, Franzen threw it into the middle of the blue paint, where it then got lost in the scrum. Highlights Watch from 1:45/1:50 area. Clearly doesn't go in -
For me this is the line, similar sentiments to the top quote, but would put Franzen out with Dats and Mo, not Homer. Homer can't really shoot, so put two bigs guys out who can hold a side of the ice whilst the other heads in front of the net (if thats the way they decide to play that line). With Homer out there, you only ever have Homer in front of net (and rightly so as its his office) yet with two big guys like Mo and Mule they can both shoot, and both screen. Just think that'll work better. Plus don't play a screening game when you've got people like Abdelkader on the ice as they can't play it. Let him, Helm, Miller, Draper, Eaves, check all over the ice and fire pucks at net.

Question: Why do Wings fans hate the Canucks?
Wing Across The Pond replied to KeslerFan's topic in General
You Sir, are on to something! -
Looking at it now, there are potentially 4 game 7s from the remaining 6 match-ups. All of Chicago, LA, Montreal, and Tampa play game 6 at home to tie the series at 3-3. Buffalo and Nashville both play at home to win their series. Whilst its going to be an exciting few days, and the Wings are probably glad for the rest, does anything wonder whether we could have used at least one more game for conditioning? Keeping up with a game pace? Or do you think they'll be more focused and refreshed - thinking of players like Z who haven't played in the post-season yet this year, will he bring his regular season play or be fired for round 2. Mo seemed to be fired so lets take that as a good sign. Additionally, with a lot of teams (potentially) forcing a game 7 and taking a lot of momentum, we could see a lot of higher ranked teams dropping out. If Buffalo and Nashville both win at home, that'll be a 4th and a 2nd seed gone. Means a lot more home ice.

No idea why, but don't like looking at Homer on the top line. I think I must be coming down with something... then again he almost needs to be, as 3rd and 4th lines aren't going to move the puck like the top two for him to get into position. Keep Z-D-H for PP1, and don't split Dats and Franzen. They're working together. Might also be nice to split Helm and Draper to have some speed on two lines. If they're throwing in hits on the forecheck, and then someone else is coming in to hold the puck, it could lead to some more chances then having them both power in with speed, lay some checks, only for the other team to clear their lines. Just thoughts

Yeah, because he really wants to. Basically what you're saying is 'MAKE' Drapes retire

Pominville injury looked like the one Mo suffered. Seemed to rush off the ice as well. Costly for Buffalo you reckon?

Hits to the head a bulls*** rule? -
This. Would be a solid replacement for Lids when he decides to hang it up. Would be more of a replacement when/if Rafalski decides to go.

I wouldn't mind Hanzal. Pretty decent shot and a big body to stick in front of net. Taking the 'best' player doesn't really mean the best thing for a team, is my reasoning.
