for the record, I would have preferred we traded his rights prior to the deadline for a scoring threat last year and am by no means a Hudler slappy, but people overlook his ability and what he brings to the team too... the guy has a nose for the net and likes to shoot and that IS something we missed last year...

About Adbelkader too... he could develop into a 20 goal player - it's probably not going to happen next year, but the potential is there and he is not, nor has he ever been a fighter... he's just willing to when the moment calls for it... As for Hudler, he will likely be on a line with Z or Dats ALL season, which will take over for his defensive weaknesses and raise his point totals... I predict he will have at least 60pts and be a + player when all is said and done next year... Also, with the other point totals you predicted, how is that bad for bottom 6 guys? This team WILL be better, if for no other reason, a healthy Franzen for a full season...

Spoiled. f'in. brats. That's what EVERYONE who has a problem with this is... no ifs, ands, or buts about it. This is the best defenseman of our era and arguably, the best defenseman EVER to lace them up... he is 2 years removed from a +40 season with 70pts and finished with a +22 and 49 pts last year... WITH AN INJURY DEPLETED TEAM and coming off 3 straight years of DEEP playoff runs (not to mention almost losing a nut, literally) He is still one of the 5 best defenseman in the league and 6.2 is a BARGAIN... just get ready to eat your crow when he puts up another Norris worth season this coming year after actually getting most of a summer off to re-charge the batteries... You should all be ashamed and disgusted by yourselves for even SUGGESTING he deserves less...

I don't think ANY player is worth over 10 in a salary cap era - But I will take Nick Lidstrom for 6-6.5 over Duncan Keith for 5.5 at this stage in their careers (not factoring potential, both raising and declining) To ever question Nick's character is laughable at best and doesn't even warrant a response.

Agreed - I don't think he should have signed for peanuts like some have suggested, but it is definitely not the same thing - if he HAD signed for 7, he would have deserved it, but now that the reports are coming out that it's only a shade over 6, it's a great signing...
