Steve Yzerman named TB's new GM

I know you're just being silly, but come on, it's not like he was sitting around collecting unemployment here yea, no kidding and a #6 this year... plus he still has those 2 guys, what were their names? Oh yea, that St. Louis and Lecavalier character... They could turn around quickly with the right coaching staff...

Steve Yzerman named TB's new GM

haha, interesting way to look at it...
  3. That's what I'm thinking too...
  4. The context is what HOLLAND will do, not what you'd do... do you even follow the Wings and the way they operate? Your "proposal" offered too many roster changes and the "Rafalski waive the NTC and trade Hudler" comments took it out of context right there alone... the numbers are just estimates, and this wasn't a "contract value" thread either... there's likely no way that either Miller OR Eaves are sent packing, let alone both of them...

Your man love is sickening... all of your points are laughable and biased at best... As I've said to you EVERY OTHER TIME - We'll see where he sits at the end of next year...

ooohhhh... that would be a tough pill to swallow...

haha, I'm pretty sure that would land him in jail, but it's a nice thought

Steve Yzerman named TB's new GM

they just became my #2, that's for sure... I'm real interested to see who he puts in place as coach now...

Steve Yzerman named TB's new GM

That's the way I'm looking at it... but it's still rough to imagine him being anywhere else, even if it's temporary
  10. wait to go completely ignoring the context of the thread... http://detnews.com/article/20100522/OPINION03/5220399/Re-signing-Tomas-Holmstrom-likely--but-no-slam-dunk-for-Red-Wings this makes me think he wants a raise, not a huge one, but a slight one... he could very well stay at 2.25 as well, I just don't see him taking a paycut as so many have suggested

Steve Yzerman named TB's new GM

like I said in thread - http://www.letsgowings.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=65239&st=20 Guess all those reasons added up for him... it makes sense and I wish him the best of luck, that's a good opportunity down there and he will always be a Red Wing...

Who do you cheer for now?

I'm really not rooting for either, I abhor both teams so much, that for the first time in my lifetime, I will barely watch the SCF... but gun to my head, I'd take Chicago... I think I just threw up in my mouth a little admitting that... Philly - Pronger, Carcillo, Hartnell, Laperierre and (even though he's not playing) Emery Keep it in context, I don't want to see Chicago win either, I just want to see Philly win even less... on second thought... I'll take the gun...
  14. Draper is already signed for that amount, so there's nothing we can do about it... Miller will be re-signed, Holland has already said he will tender offers to all of his RFA's and with the way he played this past year, unless someone actually signs him to an offer sheet(not likely) and we get draft picks as compensation, I don't see why we wouldn't keep him as a bottom line guy, he's great as an energy guy/PK guy... I don't see Bert taking a pay cut, so I priced him in at the same price he was already at... as for Holmstrom, his agent said he will not take a home-town discount and wants a raise, so that's the only reason I notched that number in there - when you average it out for a 20-30 goal and 50+ pt guy (not to mention how many more goals are DIRECTLY related to his work in front of the net, 2.5 is not an overpayment...

    History Will be Made

Exactly... people are only looking at the numbers, he still looks timid and meek in the hard areas and the only reason he is scoring, is that he is fortunate enough to be on a team FILLED with guys that are willing to do what he isn't... I, as well, was pulling for him hard at the beginning of the year and his just complete apparent lack of heart turned me off so bad, that I can't help but be disgusted by the time he put in here and even if he turns into something more (which I don't think he ever will) - I STILL say good riddance... Until he puts in a full season and proves otherwise, I still think this is just one of MANY flash in the pan stories of a player on a hot streak... eventually water finds its level and Leino will prove to be what he is, a mediocre, fringe NHL'er at best...

If Wings faced Hawks in 3rd Round

I think we would have given them more of a series, but in the end, I think we would have lost... the main reasons we lost to San Jose were faceoffs and poor PP and Chicago's faceoffs and PK are as good, if not better than San Jose's... so chances are, the end result would have been the same, just a little later...

Does anyone think the Eastern conference can win the Cup?

I don't want either of them to win, I hate them both and am still holding on to a glimmer of hope that Montreal pulls off a miracle comeback, so I actually have a reason to watch the SCF... The big difference between this year and last, is that Chicago is not beat up like Detroit was last year and they get PLENTY of rest coming off a sweep... I just think the table is set for an easy win for Chicago... once again, I'm not saying it's a lock and I wouldn't be shocked if Philly could pull it off with the way they've been playing and their veteran leadership, it's just honestly what I predict will be the outcome... Don't be a jackass... you know what I mean... in context.

Does anyone think the Eastern conference can win the Cup?

Are you sure this reply wasn't meant to someone else's post? I agree they have a chance, I just said they have as good of a chance as anyone, I didn't say it was a lock that Chicago was going to win... I just said it's what I think is PROBABLY(key word) going to happen... EDIT - Oh and I also still think this play by Leino is an anomaly and a hot streak and that he will come back to earth and play mediocre at best hockey in the NHL over his span in this league.

Does anyone think the Eastern conference can win the Cup?

any team CAN beat any team in the NHL... unfortunately, the West is simply too strong and Chicago is probably going to cruise to an easy Stanley Cup championship...

    Homer Contract Disussion

Exactly, the guy is a warrior and takes a beating for his goals - 2mil is a BARGAIN for a 30 goal scorer when healthy... now the problem is, that because of his age and the abuse he takes, he's very rarely healthy for a full year anymore, but that's why 2 mil is reasonable... he makes his 2.5 in 2010/11 and then if he nets 30 in 2011/12, then he's gets his 2.5 that year too... I'm always a fan of incentive based contracts, I think guys play a lot harder under those circumstances...

Who do you cheer for now?

Is secret option 3, "gouge my eyes out", an option?
  24. stevkrause

Who do you cheer for now?

If Philly wins tonight, two of my most hated teams will be in the SCF and for the first time in my lifetime, I will barely watch... I really hope Montreal can pull off a miracle, so I actually have someone to root for in the finals and not just root for each team to literally take off their skates and kill each other... EDIT - I'm saying this tongue in cheek by the way
