I can't believe this thread has even be resurrected, especially about one of our best playoff performers thus far... as I've said all along, every other team in the league would kill to have him at 3m a year and he is not a 3rd line center... he is a top 6 guy, as he has shown... keep him where he belongs in the top 6, for a full, HEALTHY year and he will be a 60, possibly even 70 pt scorer next year...

I love Shanny and he will go down as one of my all time favorite Wings, but the fact that he was not home grown and did not spend at least one full decade here, makes me disagree... I think the retired Wings numbers belong to a VERY exclusive group and the honor should only go to essentially "lifers" Nick should be the only other Wing of the modern era with such an honor...

Williams is definitely out... I think those tea leaves are pretty easy to read (one year contract, scratched in the playoffs), I'm sure Maltby will probably retire and there's a good chance that Bert will be back at 1.5 or less... basically, it will be the same roster, with Hudler replacing Williams and Draper likely being scratched most nights as Abs, Helm, Miller and Eaves will play night in and night out...
