"Free Iran?" "I'll take it!" ::dials phone:: "Saudi Arabia, I have something you may want, muahahaha" sorry... every time I see your signature I feel the need to make that slightly modified Family Guy reference...

Reasons why to have Ericsson play the point on the PP
stevkrause replied to stevkrause's topic in General
on the 2nd PP? Why not... like I already said, try it in practice and if it works, give it a go, if not, try Eaves (also in practice first) My point is, only use Stuart if we have to, otherwise, keep him playing hefty 5 on 5 and PK minutes -

As we've discussed on this board many times, this is one of the only black marks on an otherwise pristine Ilitch era... Even though it is still technically unofficially retired and the team will not issue it to any other players, Aurie still deserves the honor he was once bestowed to be returned #6 should be in the rafters. period.

Abs AND Miller... good Sparty contingent on that line tonight!

yes, you try it out in practice first and if it works, then you apply it in game time... I'm not advocating just throwing it out there without any practice time first... -

Maybe just try him out if we get a 5 on 3? Less lanes to shoot through and less chance of a break the other way and it gets the big boys a chance to rest... -

Man... you just beat me to it... I was gonna say: WILD CARD! BOOM EAVES! (virtual points if you get the WILD CARD reference) -

No worse than Sammy was and has to be more effective then Williams is... -

I just want someone on the point that makes guys at least hesitate when they go to block a shot, that split second hesitation can lead to goals... so can 100 mph shots past screens, haha -
you can rotate lines... if anything, I'd rather do a line 3a and 3b, basically seeing same ice time... 3a - Cleary-Miller-Eaves 3b - Abdelkader-Helm-May/Williams/Draper
-
It's not just one guy, it's a whole line and with Abdelkader on a line with Helm, we can really wear down their D and actually make them rush and that, over the course of a game, can make or break you... so all in all, one player no, the mentality that one player brings and the rub off effect he could have on those around him? yes.

Well, special teams was awful and that does need to be solved as well, but that doesn't have much to do with Abs... however, if we had scored the 2-3 goals we should have on even strength, instead of being back on our heels, it wouldn't have mattered and that's where he helps - not necessarily with the goals themselves, but with separation and wearing Phx down to ALLOW for those even strength goals...
-
Someone who isn't afraid to hit anyone and actually has some size and speed to make the hits count... he's absolutely gotta play Friday...

I think (hope) he meant superman... as Christopher Reeve spent the latter years of his life in a wheelchair and is no longer alive...

Eyes definitely playing tricks on you... wishful thinking?

I know, it's basically pointing out the obvious...

Draper was a non-factor and played barely ANY minutes and the Coyotes literally man-handled us ALL game - Abs led the team in hits while he was here and can actually score... My idea - 3rd line A(3rd): Cleary-Miller-Eaves 3rd line B(4th): Abdelkader-Helm-May Let the 3rd line try to exploit their 3rd line and actually try to get a couple goals... put the 4th line out there with one message - ENERGY and drive anything and everything in the other sweater THROUGH THE BOARDS... maybe even send May out there with one task and one task only, run Jovo ANY CHANCE YOU GET - he can be coaxed to drop the gloves when frustrated and we get him off the ice for 5 minutes in exchange for May... in my mind, Abs and May is an upgrade from Draper and Williams at this point with what we need in this series and what they bring to the table...

I'm going to have to agree with the washing it theory...

these are the best I could find so far...

I shaved last night for the last time as well I will also be keeping the neck and cheeks cleaned up, but that will be it, the rest I will only trim between rounds to keep in maintained... this was the ritual I had in 08 - last year I just let it go beard crazy and didn't shave at all... and well... lets just say out of superstition, I'm reverting to 08 ritual over 09 ritual... to add to your point, there should be a long bearded smiley for playoffs at bare minimum...

I think Strader is great, but I think Daniel's is top 2, whereas Strader is top 5 in my books... if I had to rate play-by-play guys, I'd go: 1. Bob Cole 2. Ken Daniels 3. Doc Emrick 4. Dave Strader 5. Jim Hughson

the lottery is an f'in joke in the NBA and is bigger joke in the NHL... if they want to deter teams from "purposely tanking it" to land the number 1 pick, then they should make it a good/bad thing in a way that only owner's understand - for every pick from 1-10, mandate an additional set cap value on the team that the MUST be above the cap floor for like 3 years following the pick... hit them in the pocketbooks... the REAL teams will still try to win this way...
