without a doubt given the right opponent - we play an Anaheim team, or someone else who is likely to goon it up and he'll play at least one or two games to send a message...

He'll be there for my annual GR road trip to see the Grifs next week on the 6th!!!

Can we ban line combo threads? It's one thing if it's an argument within an existing thread, or if it's an official line combo announced by the coaching staff, but these threads are ridiculous...

All those participating... once again... DRINK :chug: :chug: :chug: :chug: :chug:

these Olympics might have been one of the best things to happen to the NHL in a long time... maybe Russians and other Europeans who may have defected, or just gone straight to the KHL will second guess their choice and really work for/aim for the NHL, as it has proven to be a superior league...
-
After watching these Olympics and how well they've played together, along with how well Rafalski has played having to carry his pairing and being relied on to be more defensively responsible, I think this could really be an opportunity to switch up the D pairings coming out of the break and capitalize on the flow... Lidstrom-Kronwall Stuart-Rafalski Ericsson-Lilja make it happen Babs!

atta boy Malts - take one for the team!! I am SOOO stoked to see big number 3 back on the ice for us... everyone getting healthy at the right time... I feel good about things right now.

I think they will have a wink, wink, nudge, nudge agreement, that if he goes on IR this year to keep us from losing assets, that Holland will bring him back next year on a one year deal to finish his career here. EDIT - before anyone even says it, no, Lebda is not an asset, but cutting him alone won't do it, we would need to part with someone else too... and that would be an asset
-
I think he's just saying the right things... Lilja will be reactivated and Maltby put on LTIR by Monday at the latest, barring some major trade that is unforeseen and you can hold me to that prediction.

go away troll, you add nothing to this board. and since you don't know how to read on your own, let me spell it out to you what Lidstrom has to do with it:
-
most players don't even wear their falsies all the time... it's the retired players that surprise me... once you're done with the game, get an implant, class it up a little *cough* Darren *cough*

Swedes and Fins are less likely to go to the KHL than Czechs, Slovaks and Russians... Tatar also seems to be loving the NA lifestyle by all reports, so realistically, I don't see any of them ending up in the KHL... Ericsson will work out his kinks and be an NHL mainstay and even if he didn't I see him going to the SEL, not the KHL Leino will probably latch on somewhere and if he doesn't, will most likely go back to SM-Liga Tatar is the only one who on any argument could conceivably end up there and I see him being an NHL mainstay very soon and for a long time as well if he continues to develop like he is...
-
and I think we can all agree with Stuart that a lot of it had to do with him playing the entire season with more minutes than accustomed to - He was getting mentally tired I think with the extra responsibility - I think we're going to see a quite rejuvenated Brad Stuart (and Wings team as a whole) coming out of this break
-
well, you have been saying this vehemently for several months... figured it was only proper! :beerbuddy:
-
Lidstrom > Rafalski > Sutter are you new? EDIT - forgot it was the troll I was replying to
-
exactly... and I'm sure to start they'd only be seeing 15 minutes or less a game anyway, plus, I think the steadying force(and fellow countryman) of Lilja will do WORLDS for Ericsson... his biggest problem right now, is that he's trying to do too much, playing with a veteran defensive defenesman like Lils I think will calm him down and help him simplify and just play his game... I'm sure this break has been good for him too to get out of his own head...

the only thing more painful to watch than women's hockey, is women's basketball... and nascar... I'd take women's hockey over nascar any day of the week... just brutal...

If you can't beat them on the scoreboard...
stevkrause replied to cusimano_brothers's topic in General
no kidding... from first read, you'd think these kids were bare knuckle boxing... there's not a person who played the game who didn't locker box - it's harmless and people need to lighten up... -
EDIT - for some reason, it was a brawl video when I clicked the first time... odd Double Edit - got it... As for the shootout, seems stupid and dangerous to me, but that's just my opinion...
-
Wasn't that the talk before one of the last contracts though, because of his kids and school, etc... I think they're all pretty locked into the US with college, etc... I wouldn't be surprised if he ended up becoming a full time citizen, unless he does end up wanting to run for office in Sweden (don't laugh, the man is a genius and could very well become Prime Minister over there over time after some smaller offices first)

Anyone Else Miss the Larger International Rinks?
stevkrause replied to Behind Enemy Lines in CO's topic in General
I'm not turning hostile... you're just blowing my mind, I don't know how much clearer I can be... I was saying that ALL games should be played on the rinks that they have always been played on and an exception should not have been made for the 2010 Olympics. That is as simple as I can put it... everything else was simply my PERSONAL reasons for disliking them using the NA rinks in the 2010 Olympics and was in no way a suggestion to the IIHF changing ANYTHING based on that OPINION... I'm really dumbfounded here by your lack of ability to grasp that... -
Anyone Else Miss the Larger International Rinks?
stevkrause replied to Behind Enemy Lines in CO's topic in General
ok, I'm convinced at this point that you're arguing just to argue... That comment was a RESPONSE(not argument) to the thread, saying that I missed the larger rinks in these Olympics and that was one of the reasons WHY I missed it - I NEVER, in any way, shape or form advocated them changing ANYTHING. - You're not making sense... The Olympics were ALWAYS played on international sized rinks in the past and it annoys me that this Olympics is being played on a NA sized rink, the same way it would annoy me if they had always been played on NA sized rinks, then the Olympics went to, say, Finland, and they decided to use international sized ice... how did you not get that?? What does this have to do with ANYTHING I said... once again... RE-READ WHAT I POSTED. What are you not getting here, or are you just being an ass???
