Wait, the Wings are playing tonight?

Will Jimmy Howard Be Overworked For Playoffs?
stevkrause replied to LeonardSankar's topic in General
I still think a trade with the Islanders for Nabby has some merit... -
I'm surprised no one else posted about the trade here first.. He was dealt to Ottawa yesterday for a prospect and a 2nd round pick...
-
Didn't he play for US for juniors? I'm pretty sure he did, so that ones OK, but only under those circumstances... A jersey of a player where they never played is never ok...

How Are The (former) UFA's That We All Wanted Doing?
stevkrause replied to LeftWinger's topic in General
What about Boyd Devereaux? I hear he's still unsigned... -
And they have every right to enjoy him... An abomination of a jersey is just not the way...
-
Don't get me wrong, that is an abomination, but I still think a jersey of a player that never played for your organization is worse... Especially when said player never played anywhere else AND is an icon there...
-
Gross... Agreed... It's like he was fishing for a throwback, but they're too young of an organization to really have an iconic one, so he reached... and failed horribly...
-
agreed completely

Last year, look how many teams hit 100 pts due to this pathetic point system... it's not adequately separating teams and it's hurting the overtimes, because once teams get there, they already have a point and play it too safe, just waiting for the shootout if they don't get a break - no need to take a chance, because you walk away with the same points... I think this needs to be changed to a 3 point system, with more emphasis on team play, I personally hate ties and think the shootout should stay FOR REGULAR SEASON ONLY - but it needs to be altered 3 point system: Win in regulation or overtime - 3 pts Win in a shootout 2 - pts Loss in a shootout 1 - pt with this structure, EVERY outcome is worth a grand total of 3 pts, and if you win in a shootout, you don't get the same points as winning in OT or regulation, so it gives teams more incentive to play harder in OT. I think it's glaringly obvious...
-
And not a single other one of the professional sports has the same physical demand and schedule combined as the NHL
-
Ties suck and you can't play forever in the regular season... Don't be ridiculous.. Exactly... and the 3 point system would solve this...
-
I see him having enough value to at least warrant a low level trade..

Short answer, no. Long answer, is it gets very complicated once everyone is healthy, and at the end of it all, one of our guys won't be a Wing anymore... when Mursak is back, we'll still be within roster limits, so it'll be fine, but once Eaves is off IR, this is where the complication comes in... if I had to make a guess, I'd put my money on a trade, as none of our roster players are waiver exempt and we shouldn't just give any of them away... all and all though, Conner has been stellar and has earned his spot on the roster
-
that's funny, because I was actually making fun of your constant trolling...

I bet the Dodge Ram would sell better if we had an enforcer Ok, I'm done now... this asinine thought has just popped up here a lot again and it's been about this relevant in most of the threads lately...
-
I bet Howard would make the ASG if we had an enforcer
-
I bet our PK would be better if we had an enforcer
-
I bet we'd practice better if we had an enforcer

I'm ok with the Tootoo ruling (even though I thought that one only deserved a game) but the Fistric ruling is horrible... he did not leave his feet - his momentum projected him upwards AFTER the hit... disappointed in Shanny on this one...
-
Really... you're gonna go that route, really? Don't be snide and condescending with me, you make yourself look like a jackass...
-
Fantastic news, you can easily argue he has been our third best skater/player this season (behind Datsyuk and Lidstrom - Howard excluded) and losing him right now would be a blow...
-
That isn't what I meant, I interpreted it to mean something horrible had happened to Fistric (off the ice) and the hockey world lost ANOTHER member and this thread was one to "check in" about it, to see if anyone had info... It's just misleading is all... Back to the topic at hand, if he gets suspended for this, it's setting a poor precedent, because up until now, I think Shanny has done a fantastic job of getting it right...
