I think they'd both be good candidates, for some reason though, I just don't see the Wings ever dealing with Carolina due to the bad blood and the competitive nature of their owners...
-
I more meant perennial basement dwellers, which they have been... and even this year, they're not exactly lighting the world ablaze, they're in 11th place in the east...
-
I think/hope if anything, the reason Lebda has been playing the last 3 games, is to dangle him out there... and tonight, they're just getting Meech some work, while sending E a message
-
I agree, he has played poorly over the last half dozen games, but Lebda AND Meech when ANYONE else is healthy... blech... hell, I'd rather put May in as the 6th d-man and take my chances, haha
-
There is no way they should EVER opt to play both Lebda and Meech over Ericsson... regardless of his blunders...
-
That's why I'm thinking basement dwellers that are young and have a ton of cap space and are willing to take time to see how a guy develops (NYI, ATL) would be willing to take a chance on Leino and he could get top minutes there... I even think this would be a good deal for someone like CBJ, but I can't stand the thought of trading in division, especially if Leino ever does tap that potential...

With the numbers crunch we will be in soon and the fact that Holland probably doesn't want to waive/lose guys for nothing, I thought this was actually a decent topic for debate... I shouldn't have expected anything more than stupid replies and smart-ass comments from this board. my mistake.

easier than editing it...

What I want: G: USA S: CANADA B: SWEDEN What I think is going to happen: G: CANADA/RUSSIA S: CANADA/RUSSIA B: SWEDEN/USA
-
to add to that - both Fil and Dats are pass first, shoot second kind of guys... Bert isn't afraid to fire it and would have been a great addition to that line imo...
-
GO WINGS! and... GO COYOTES!!!!
-
not crazy about it to be honest... I prefer something more simple with country flag/colors for Olympic masks...
-
Possibly ATL as well, same package, same reasons.
-
not what we need... I'd rather keep Williams, as we know he can already play the style...
-
now THAT is a scary/awesome picture, haha
-
I really liked Bert with Dats and think Fil would fit right in there... I also always thought Holmstrom looked more natural with Zetterberg than Dats(not that he was bad with Dats) so it makes more sense to me to put Holmer with Z on that scale too... I'd love to see Franzen-Zetterberg-Holmstrom Filppula-Datsyuk-Bertuzzi
-
Just to put things in perspective, he is making more Franzen, Filppula, Stuart and Kronwall and almost the same as Zetterberg... all who have proven more valuable this season.... with that said, he's still a very good offensive d-man and he's not on the US Olympic team for no reason... he took a discount to come here and without him we don't win the cup in '08... take the good with the bad...
-
I really hope so... Meech has proven much more valuable than Lebda(doesn't say much) and I really hope Lebda has only been playing lately, to dangle him out there for a trade... There's nothing about this report that doesn't make me happy.
-
from EVERYTHING said about Jokinen, he's a locker room cancer and should fit RIGHT in in NY with other d-bags like Avery...
-
I REALLY liked his chemistry with Datsyuk last game, so I'm all for it... I just think they should have put another winger on that line that likes to shoot to make it truly effective, but as long as Dats and Fil SHOOT, this line should be great...
-
Pierre McGuire makes the games on NBC almost unwatchable... thankfully there's a mute button... The guy is just brutal, worse than Tony Kornheiser was on MNF... and that says a lot...
-
glow puck was hands down the worst thing to ever happen to the game of hockey and I don't think it could ever be surpassed...
-
I think he's worth every penny - he's INCREDIBLY defensively responsible, he's a hound on the puck when he doesn't have it and has insanely accurate passing... if he was a 40 goal scorer, he'd be a hell of a lot more... that's really the only thing his game is missing and even that is showing signs of improvement....
-
I think we're basically on the same page, the only thing we seem to be disagreeing with, is the removal of the SO - I think it has it's place... if you go back and see my original suggestion, I want to keep it, but DRASTICALLY remove it's effect on the outcomes and the "winning team" actually getting less points for winning in a SO than OT. no team should be awarded for winning in a SO, while another teams gets NOTHING for losing in a SO(individual effort) - it is a team game... With that said, and the mindset that the SO is staying... Win in regulation or OT - 3 pts Win in SO - 2pts Loss in SO - 1 pt This way teams are still basically docked a pt for winning a team game in a SO, and it encourages more OT wins...

Not as the lead-in to it's highlights - As in the "Coming up" and "Top 10" parts... people love the breakaway, the same way they love the long ball, or a 50 yard bomb in the NFL - it's flashy... Does that make it right, no - but, like I've already said - take it for what it is. Not unless they drastically corrected the OT - otherwise, we're back at square one... you also need to recognize the need for consistency (whether good or bad), when they make drastic rule/gameplay changes year in and year out, that is hard for new/fringe fans to follow and keep up with and can turn even more people off...
