I just said I think Bertuzzi doesn't deserve what he gets for it and I do like Bert as a matter of fact... As for the injury that resulted, that's the only thing I was confused about, but it doesn't change the stance on the motivation for the attack... how would this in any way affect anything I said? maybe you should re-read my post...

and water is either hot or cold and all monochrome scales operate only on black and white - nothing in between.

not the same at all and it's pretty bad that you can't see how... In this case, McCarty's was in the heat of the moment RIGHT after he cheap shotted Yzerman - Bert's was months later after Moore took out Naslund's knee and he tried to fight him, then when Moore skated away, he had time to premeditate his attack and sucker punched him from behind - ALSO, there was a drastic size difference in the Bert/Moore incident... so the driving force is much worse... FURTHERMORE - The Lemieux-McCarty incident is VERY different too, because he told Lemieux right to his face in the face off he was going to fight him... Hockey is a game of respect and honor - McCarty's actions, although slightly thuggish and violent, followed this code of honor - Bert's did not. I think Bert served his time and doesn't deserve anymore BS because of it, but this is still not the same...

Leino never signed an entry level contract, as he was undrafted and signed as an UFA after 25 to a 1 way contract... his first deal was before he was 25, so he had minor league options, his second contract does not... so he would have to clear waivers - also, he has made it very clear he will not report if sent back down to the AHL and would go back to Finland... so it's not really an option for him... Also, with the way Abs has played, regardless of waiver eligibility, he deserves an active spot on this roster... I think we're going to be forced to say bye to someone, it's just a matter of who... I'd love to see us deal/waive Williams (if anyone will take him), Lebda and Meech and play Janik as the full time number 6, bringing someone else up if needed for d, rolling with 3 extra forwards - May, Maltby, Miller and Leino playing depending on who earned it/who's healthy/position of need... Filppula-Datsyuk-Franzen Bertuzzi-Zetterberg-Holmstrom Cleary-Helm-Abdelkader Eaves-Draper-May Leino Miller Maltby Lidstrom-Ericsson Kronwall-Stuart Janik-Rafalski Osgood Howard That's just me though...

Everyone will be healthy before then though and players will have to be exposed to waivers prior to that... at a bare minimum, they send Abs down and still one guy has to be exposed to waivers before that can work... not that I'd mind that being Lebda and/or Meech...

I don't think the league is going to give us an exception and allow us to keep an active roster of 25...
-
with their quality of doctors, I don't see how that's possible...
-
ok, semantics really then - that would still be considered a buyout per the new CBA, it just isn't executed in the lump sum payout...
-
by term, you mean buy him out, right? because there is no cutting of contract players in the NHL... they must be compensated.
-
yes - it only counts as 1 PP, so you can increase your stats significantly...
-
Well, we're technically out right now... I'm not scared either and have been telling people to chill until we get key players back since Fil went down, but these games are still important, not only in the standings, but the psyche of the team...
-
scary stuff and very fortunate that he was there...
-
I'm on board with this 100% - if he clears and they put him on re-entry waivers, I'd love to see him here at 1.25

desire can only push one so far too when your body is flat out broken down and tired... I think this had a lot to do with the rash of injuries... they've basically been playing NHL hockey for almost 4 years straight with no break... anyone would wear down a bit under those conditions

How big of an impact would Hudler be having on this season's team.

damn, broken stick is going to have to carry that D pairing... -
this exactly.

haha, that's an adult response... ignorance just annoys me... sorry.

I can overlook a lot of them, certain ones just drive me insane...
-
I overlook a lot of the grammatical atrocities on message boards, but certain ones are just the typed equivalency of nails on a chalk board to me... and that's one of them...

exactly, especially with the amount of posters that we have on here that use English as a second language... they do not need to see a mangled version of the language.

there, fixed it for you. they're = as in "they are" there = as in "over there" that one drives me nuts...
-
we're decimated by injuries - we're missing 3 of our best 7 players (some could argue 3 of our 6), not to mention additional role players STOP FISHING FOR THINGS TO WHINE ABOUT if we can just stay .500 until they all (or even some of them) return... that's a HUGE victory.

I've been watching almost every game since '87, don't patronize me boy... go back and re-watch some video and educate yourself. Also, "the announcers mentioned it" does not make it fact... period.

great skater and fast skater are 2 different things - and no, he wasn't reported to be the 2nd or 3rd fastest guy on the team back then... now you're flat out just making stuff up.... Sergei Fedorov, Kris Draper, Boyd Devereaux, Kirk Maltby, Mathieu Dandenault and Jason Williams were all hands down faster, and there are at LEAST another 3 that could have been argued... get your facts straight.
-
he's been skating the whole time by the way... the only thing he will really need to get back up to form will be his shot and strength on the puck, as his arm/wrist will be considerably weaker
