The NHL's top secret flow chart for handing out suspensions
stevkrause replied to WpgMikos's topic in General
oh man... comedy gold! -
yea, me neither, unless that cap space came with an actual payout as well - ie - you trade a 1st round pick for an additional, say 3 million in cap space, and in turn, you also have to pay the club trading the pick 6 million... now that would be a more interesting concept...
-
always a humble, class act - the greatest captain in NHL history and one of the greatest players as well... Just once for laughs, I want to see him go up on the podium and say "I'm the greatest", then drop the mic and walk off the stage with his arms in the air, haha would never happen, but it would be so out of character it would be hilarious
-
well, in NHL10, I traded him to Boston for a 3rd rd pick and since most of the trades people suggest on this board are based off of a skewed view of player worth based on video games - let's do that![/sarcasm]

Draper-Helm-Eaves http://blog.mlive.com/snapshots/2009/11/re..._have_an_a.html that really is some insane speed and they looked DAMN good together last game... I'm loving it
-
Do they send him back down and risk him being claimed, or do they FINALLY ship Lebda or Meech out of town (which the need to do anyway) carry Janik as the 7th and wait until Lilja is back to make a further decision? Also, I understand everyone is healthy now, but I'd really like to see him get a few games in with Ericsson with Meech and Lebda being the scratches... I think he has the demeanor to play well alongside E and looked good in his one game of action and at least deserves a couple more looks...
-
he still would have been rocked... even with his head up... period. the only difference is, it wouldn't have been AS dramatic.
-
as I said in a post above, I never said he was exonerated of all fault, but his teammates left him out to dry, making it worse than it should have been... and no... you can't see through someone... that's what screened means...
-
do you know what the phrase "screened" means?
-
fair enough, I'll call it a combination of Ohlund and Niittymaki... and I'm not exonerating Hedman of all fault, I'm just saying that his teammates did not communicate with him like they should have, thus making this hit much worse than it should have been...
-
or that he was screened. then, that, yes.
-
because it's clear from the video... anyone who looks at it can see that
-
his head was clearly up here - yes, he will learn, but this was still a HUGE drop of the ball on the part of Niittymaki - hockey is a team game and there is a certain level of trust you put in your teammates to do certain things that they are expected to...
-
you've got to be kidding........ there are certain things you expect from your teammates, when they drop the ball and leave you out to dry - this does not make it YOUR fault... so if a D-man pinches in getting horribly out of position and there is a 2 on 0 and they score, that goal is 100% the goalies fault? Did you play hockey, other than adult leagues, ever?
-
exactly - you shouldn't HAVE to fight someone for laying a perfectly clean, legal hockey check... they need to start giving automatic instigator and 10 minute misconducts for this re-action to a hit... Whatever happened to "get his number and get him later?"
-
this was more Niittymaki's fault for not communicating with him properly, or for running proper interference... Hedman was screend by Niittymaki and didn't have a chance...
-
this. that trapezoid is a failed experiment that NEEDS to go away...
-
ahhhh... I didn't realize it was an emergency call up... that explains it
-
there are a ton of teams riddled with injuries on the back end right now that could use a solid stay at home d-man - I'm not saying I'm blown away that it DIDN'T happen, but I'm a little surprised...

-
sneaky, sneaky
-
2 way deals have nothing to do with waiver eligibility, just the amount a player is paid depending where they are... waivers are dictated by age, number of games played, etc...
-
I didn't see that anywhere - thanks for the update! well, that pretty much renders this thread useless, haha I'm kinda surprised no one put in a claim on him...
-
well, because it's just like real life, I re-activated Lilja around game 37 of the season after a 5 game reconditioning stint in NHL10... so I'm sure that's pretty accurate, haha

Purely on a hypothetical basis - fast forward to the end of trade deadline day. Make your prediction here and now who will be wearing the Winged wheel at seasons end that is not right now. My prediction - Kari Lehtonen
