exactly... it's a bummer as far as a fan, but a necessity...
-
he just keeps piling on the wins... easily the best pound for pound fighter in the league right now...
-
this pretty much sums it up perfectly.

haha... people like you make me laugh... such a sad, angry person...
-
ouch........
-
oh, I got the NHL package, so I watch a ton of other games already, but it's not the same as watching the Wings...

I'm sorry, but especially with the way Williams is playing, Holland made the right move. Sammy only has 2 more points than Williams, Williams is 1000x better defensively and a DRASTIC improvement on the PP point and costs a HELL of a lot less Williams>Samulesson Hell, I'd go as far as to say that I'd take Williams over Samuelsson for the same price tag and I think it will stay that way - and you can quote me on that at year's end too.
-
I'd say pretty drastically different that lousy - there are MMA fighters making a hell of a lot less, for a hell of a lot more damage... most hockey fights result in little worse than a broken nose or a few bumps and bruises....

no.

I hate it when people reply to threads without even reading the original post...

my head almost exploded when I read the title... then I read the post :rotflmao:

just to point it out too: Wings - 3-3-1 Nucks - 3-4-0 Wings - 22GF/26GA Nucks - 22GF/23GA All we need to do is tighten up our D... and Sammy certainly wasn't part of that...
-
Williams has been one of our best players thus far and is playing his ass off - I'd take Williams over Sammy any day.
-
as others have said, streaky at best - and not worth it to the tune of 2.5 a year. EDIT - There, salary corrected.

he really has played extremely well this year - the best he has in at least 4 years and is making one hell of a case to stay in the lineup night in and night out right now...
-
this is more than just "shaking things up" - that's just an additional reason... this is due to the overall year and half + of declining defense on a previously defensive superior team... read the whole thread.
-
McCrimmon handles the PK too... like others have suggested as well, not only would this remove the variable that has changed, but it would cause a shake up and wake-up call to the others...
-
well, I'm obviously simplifying the dynamic, but MacLean is in NO way as hands on with the D as he would be under his old role, or the PK for that matter... it's just like saying Babs doesn't handle the D at all, because he's not the D coach... they obviously all have input, but the intricacies and day in/day out activities can have a drastic difference when they're coming from a different voice/different leader, regardless of input... it's just like at a job, your department may have several superiors, but the one who works directly above you, is going to have the loudest voice/largest impact in your work - same general idea applies here...
-
am I losing my mind... I can't find an article anywhere about it, but I thought I remembered reading a story last year with about 15 games left in the season, where MacClean went back to the D and McCrimmon took over the forwards... which further just drives the point home...
-
you're confusing Todd McClellan (the Sharks head coach) with Paul MacLean (our assistant coach) - they were both here in 07/08(cup year) and MacLean is still here as an assistant - MacLean handled the D and McClellan handled the forwards in 07/08 and when McClellan left for the Sharks in the start of the 08/09 season, MacClean moved to the forwards, which is when we brought on McCrimmon to take over the D (yes it can be confusing with all the Irish names, haha)
-
hot f**k you got that up FAST
-
Babcock is the head coach and the only one that can take special interest in any one area unless asked - you are not going to see ANY NHL assistant coach overstep boundaries and try and coach the opposite side he was asked to focus on... he will offer his opinion when asked, but for him to undermine McCrimmon and start butting in, would be worse...

for the 3! and... drains it!
