remember how many teams were "closing" in on a deal with him last year... I think Winter is just jacking his price up...
-
following in Wing's mold...
-
I think this was the mindset
-
why? this time tomorrow, we'll get nothing for his rights and the negotiating teams only has 12 hours to pull the trigger on exclusivity... sorry to break it to you, but his "rights" value is significantly worth less by the minute... I'd take this deal.

interesting idea... I'd be ok with it, although I'd rather them tear down, let the Cobo expand and build a new "Joe" behind the Fox, along with a brand new parking structure that connects to Comerica and the new Joe as a heated closed off walkway over Woodward and *gasp* maybe eventually stores below... (kinda like Van Andel in downtown GR) EDIT - forgot to add this - It would also stimulate the area and add jobs to build a new one and to add stores....

this too.

and what about the constant rejections of every offer they ever gave him, the hold out and the pain in the ass EVERY single negotiation was with him? I'm sure that did nothing to burn out management here? I think they just got fed up with his antics... Keep in mind, this organization basically smuggled his ENTIRE family out of Russia safely during a very volatile time and was never anything but accommodating to him and the way he basically jerked them around every time it was time for a new contract was a joke... Also, as said before, look what he's done since he left... I'm not saying he wasn't insanely talented, but people seem to overlook the fact that he had the likes of guys like Yzerman and Larionov setting him up all those years, two of the most gifted passers of the generation... the system definitely helped him...
-
and he would've probably had at LEAST 1 more cup and a more storied legacy...
-
there's no way Lilja gets moved... he will either be LTIR'd or play here for a couple reasons - he is more valuable and would be an AMAZING pairing with E AND no team is going to trade anything even NEAR his value coming off of that concussion until he's proven he's healthy, so we'd get fleeced
-
I personally would rather them move Ledba for a few reasons: - we would get more in return, as he is more "proven" in the NHL sense - we'd get a little more cap relief than if we moved Meech - Meech showed that he can be competent in a swing role at forward in a pinch and in this cap world, I think swing players serve a lot of use for that "extra" roster player

at least some people in this thread don't have Fedorov colored glasses on and can call him as he was...
-
I could definitely get on board with that... Ward scares me a little as a possible flash in the pan, but at that tag and as a 3rd liner, why not take a shot...
-
QFT. The very fact that you just said that completely discredits you and is a disgust as a Wings "fan"... I refuse to continue to educate someone who would say something so pathetic... to even put Fedorov in the same class, let alone call him the "greatest" over the best captain and leader in sports history in Yzerman, the entire production line, ESPECIALLY Mr. Hockey, Gordie Howe and one of the best of all time and greatest Wing defensmen in Lidstrom is a flat out joke... I MAYBE would've given you a pass if you said one of, but he doesn't even deserve that honor...
-
you can go UP to 23, no more... league rules are that you must have at LEAST 20 men on the roster and realistically, you kinda have to have 21, otherwise you're completely screwed at ANY injury... unless you have room to do all kinds of call-ups
-
Give me a break, that's a horrible comparison... there's a huge difference between what you can make at a job as the other 99% of society and as an athlete, as the incentives and driving force behind both late in your career and you sound like a fool for comparing the two. Feds always lacked heart and played when HE wanted to that was his m.o. from day one and anyone who followed the Wings throughout the years will agree... just his pure talent was able to shine through his lack of heart...
