Chelli's already said he isn't retiring... he just won't be back as a Wing... I wouldn't be horribly surprised to see Holmstrom hang them up either, he's been pretty beaten up these past few years... I still see no way Draper retires... he will complete his contract

I love the history, but I'm sorry, it's a joke that we have the best franchise in all of sports and such a dilapidated and run down arena... it's time to put the Joe to rest...

since he signed after the age of 35, Draper's would - Maltby's would not - If we win this year, I wouldn't be surprised to see Maltby retire and Draper finish out his contract, or to see them both stay... either way, there's no way I think Draper retires... he's too classy and can still fill a reduced role in the final year of his contract

you're comparing apples to oranges. How about the guy gives you 10, offers a 5% increase, or a guy gives you 100 and offers a 5%, because that's more realistic. Why would profits be flat under someone else, it makes no sense? Also, 10 at 10% increase annually would take you over 30 years to equal the 100 flat, but I digress, because it's really not a fair comparison... Also, the TV contract is just icing on the cake... how about forcing teams in markets like Phoenix and Atlanta (keep in mind one already failed in ATL before) which are HEMORRHAGING money, splitting the east and west in uneven conferences which favor one side of the league travel wise, the BS 8 games against ONE team (which is now 6 and STILL doesn't allow a 1 and 1 against east teams) schedule, the absolute JOKE he has made the ASG.... I could go on and on.... You're reasoning is flawed.

I wouldn't have a problem with that in that case either. Put a rule in place and enforce it - or do NOT MAKE IT A RULE. This bush league needs to take a page out of the NFL's blueprint to success.

I've taken several... and you're just further proving my point........ NHL profits have PLUMMETED from the early 90's (in relation to value of the dollar, inflation, etc) and are just NOW starting to rebound, also... it's pretty simple math If one guy gives you a $10 profit and another guy gives you a $100 profit.... who do you choose? I GUARANTEE that if this league put someone in place who could make it credible, profits would sky rocket...

are you arguing with me, or agreeing... I'm confused, haha I said he's a joke at disciplinary actions, through and through... but there are many other aspects to his job that I haven't had a problem with - THIS responsibility however, he needs to be relieved of.

I actually think Campbell has been OK, in every other aspect of his duties, but he needs to be relieved of disciplinary decisions... he's a joke in that aspect

I love the Wings and hockey with every drop of my blood, but the NHL has become a joke - Betman is SO overdue of a pink slip, it sickens me... also, Campbell has done an ok job, so I don't have a problem with him per se, but as a former player, he's too forgiving of bs on-ice incidents and I think the disciplinary actions need to be delegated to someone else... maybe like "director of player conduct" or something of the sort here, let me fix your league in 3 personnel changes Commissioner - Betman out, Dryden in Director of operations - Campbell stays in, but steps down as "disciplinary czar" appoint Ray Scapinello "Director of Player Conduct" done.

Don't get me wrong, I think Z is AMAZING defensively and he and Pavel are 1 and 1a on that topic... but I think Pavel is the 1 in this case... not by much, but a slight edge....
