Datsyuk, Lidstrom, Draper AND Lilja participating in full practice tod
stevkrause replied to stevkrause's topic in General
The only reason it still doesn't worry me as much, is we have SO many other shutdown defensive minds, that it's not as big of a worry to me... -

exactly... it wasn't an NHL'er, so I'm sure that makes a ton of difference, but there were still guys in the league that could crank it up to high 80's/low 90's and I thought it was broken at first... it took me really 2 full weeks until I would say I was 100%, but I was skating back at about 80% (where I was helping more than I was hurting the team) after a little less than a week.... the way I look at it, if he's even skating, it's probably not broken... I'd expect him back by game 3 at the latest -

without a doubt! it doesn't need to be a break to be very bruised and very swollen... when i played juniors, I actually played one game with a skate 2 sizes larger than I wore on the other foot because my foot was so swollen from blocking a shot the game before... unlike pro's there were no reserves and the coach needed me, so I skated, but I was at 50% at best and saw limited action... -

exactly, shows a good sign that he's not gonna have a Lindros... -

I still don't see Lils back before game 6 if at all this year, but this is a great sign - even if he's cleared, he has to get back in game shape... For everyone else, this is great! -

agreed. -
agreed, but this quote is DEAD on about Bettman-
-
Lids has already been confirmed to play and I would be shocked if both Dats and Ericsson didn't go as well... Worst case scenario, our lines are Franzen-Filppula-Hossa Holmstrom-Zetterberg-Cleary Hudler-Helm-Samuelsson Abdelkader-Leino-Maltby Lidstrom-Rafalski Kronwall-Stuart Lebda-Chelios still... advantage - Wings

he's played AMAZING these entire playoffs and had a great year considering his delegation to a 3rd line role, from a 2nd line role the year before... These same haters expect 4th liners to score 50 goals and 3rd pairing d-men to be a +25 at year's end...

Ken Holland: Expects Lids and Dats to be ready for game 1

I would put money on it that Lidstrom, Datsyuk AND Ericsson will all play Sat. -
Ken Holland: Expects Lids and Dats to be ready for game 1

this is also because Lidstrom's "lower body injury" is actually that tendon tear in his elbow that he's had all year... it probably just flared up and he had to get some shots... he's already said he's having the surgery in the off season... Dats will be ready too, just needed the swelling to go down, the fact that he skated at ALL yesterday prooves he's ready, and if we were only up 3-2 or the series was 3-3 going into last night - he would have played. Just no point in risking either of them, when we're up 3-1, coming off of a dominating win in game 4... and as we saw in the result last night.... we didn't. -
With the year he's having, I'd imagine he just keeps the 52... if not, I'd say 4 I'm waiting to buy my jersey until I know for sure though
-
ask Eric Lindros.
-
this really is amazing news... heres to a speedy return Lils!
-
that's what I fear...
-
I think the long term deal to Franzen just sealed the deal that Hossa will not be back... at least long term, we can't afford it and Holland is simply too smart for that...
-
agreed... I just left it as is, but even that's against the cap - just further proves that you can't keep both of them...
-
I'm in the EXACT same boat, I love Hoss, but it doesn't make sense from a cap standpoint, or what you'd lose in exchange to keep him
-
I think the price tag just doesn't justify keeping Hossa and maxing ourselves out in the cap, only to loose an incredibly productive Hudler (who I still don't think has reached his potential yet and will only get better...) AND probably have to trade Fil, who has been AMAZING in these playoffs... Fill in a couple roster spots with young guys, let Kopecky walk, trade Lebda, bring in Howard this looks good to me Roster and Cap for next year
-
he played stellar and another guy that really deserves his dues is Hudler...
-
hahahahaha people are so f'in ridiculous, I don't even know what to say.... I love how people are willing to BLOW up a 2nd place finishing team, that pushed the Penguins to a game 7 in the SCQF... or any team really... Let me say this loud and clear - eh hem... YOU DO NOT BLOW UP A SUCCESSFUL TEAM OVER ONE PLAYOFF LOSS, YOU MERELY TWEAK IT. PERIOD. - This goes to all you Red Wings f'in MORONS who are always suggesting a whole sale change in OUR roster too.
-
exactly... he just never gets the credit he deserves... he has been stellar
-
I agree, I absolutely love our 3rd jersey from the Winter Classic and one of the last games against Chi, but it should be just that, a special thing... Also, just too much history with the ACTUAL logo's, to wear a 3rd....
