I love Ericsson paired with Cheli, their styles compliment each other greatly and other than Nick, Big Rig couldn't have a better teacher
-
I love what Downey brings to the team and would gladly "give up" the roster spot for him throughout the rest of the regular season... just having him there keeps other teams honest and that is very important coming down the stretch here, when one cheap shot on a guy like Nick, Hank or Pav could cost us a lengthy playoff run

That's my biggest problem, all game should be worth the same... I've been saying this for 2 years 3 pts for a win in reg or OT 2 pts for a win in SO, 1 pt for the loss I don't think shootouts should be all or nothing, because it's a team game and shouldn't be decided by individuals, however, I like the SO for regular season, leaving in a tie sucks for everyone... Every game worth a total of 3. period.

thank you everyone for the suggestions, they are greatly appreciated!

I'm annoyed with your lack of respect for the athlete and for the game within the game...

I've been to Toronto a few times... when was the last time you went there? The passport kicked in this year as far as I knew? where I'm coming from, it only takes me about 2 hrs 45 mins to GR, 4.5 hrs to Toronto... I'm a little further west than Detroit I'm looking forward to it, I've never been to Van Andel, I'm pretty stoked!

who is that? almost looks like a video game, haha

as a Sparty, that whole incident was a black mark on the program and really hurt the team...
-
you're kidding right? I'd take Downey over Janssen in a fight any day, regardless of homeage...
-
it makes a difference in the fact that this guy is a disgrace and doesn't belong in the game, definitely not without paying his dues first and to get an NHL entry level deal?!?! pathetic.
-
at least he dropped them... I don't understand why so many guys get crap for losing a fight, it takes a lot of stones to even drop them, especially when you know you're outmatched... we had no one else on that roster that was going to do it that night and I appreciate him even more for it

you've got to be kidding me... nice...
-
here ya go - it's brutal...
-
haha, yea, we're just going to GR, about half the trip of Toronto and no passport required thanks! :beerbuddy:

Brendan Morrison, Gary Roberts and Miroslav Satan all waived
stevkrause replied to Heaton's topic in General
Too bad Roberts cap hit is so high, I wouldn't mind seeing him finish his career here, kinda adds a Drake factor on the 4th line... we just simply can't afford him without sheding some cap space first... -
people discount his toughness quite a bit... he's a bigger, tougher version of Lebda, with more defensive awareness and just as quick... why are people acting as though he's going to be our top pairing... as a 3rd pair d man, put him with Lilly when he's back and I LOVE it... I for one, am all for it.

listen, Pav's is tough as nails and can hit with the best of them, but he is in absolutely no way, shape or form a fighter and would probably get hurt if he dropped the mitts... teams DO take cheapshots at him and he usually gets back at them by laying them out via check, or making them look ridiculous with a Datsyukian move... but no, other teams are not intimidated by him. period. I am stoked to see both Downey and Ericsson up, both of whom can drop the mitts better than anyone on the current roster (although I would be VERY angry to see Ericsson do it, after the wrist injury he's coming off of) Downey needs to stay up the rest of the season, simple as that, if for no other reason, to keep other teams honest, so we're not limping or crawling into the playoffs on broken limbs...
-
he was faring pretty well this year too in his scraps, it's a bummer for sure... but I think Downey definitely needs to stay up for the rest of the season, we can't have guys taking liberties with our stars and end up losing an intricate piece of the team right before the playoffs because someone takes a cheapshot, knowing they have nothing to fear for retribution

welcome back Mathieu Dandenault. I think this is a sign...

only on guys that are on 1 way contracts that have already been waived for allowance to be sent back down, i.e. Darren McCarty if a guy is on a 2 way contract and still has options (like Helm and Leino) you can ship them back and forth as much as the options allow
