I think the odds of that are incredibly low too, but it's not impossible... they're financially a mess and he could garner a big return... once again, I think there is less than a 10% chance of him being moved, but you never know...

If he earns a top 6 role by then, without a doubt, if not, then you address those needs with the likes of Tatar, Abs, Helm, Mursak, Jurco, Pulkkinen, etc... or via FA, depending on how players develop, progress... a lot can happen in 1 year, let alone 3...

Well, they're going to want D-men in return, probably even NHL ready dmen if they even consider moving him and they're probably going to want a pretty good return, which includes a high pick and prospect, one solid NHL dman and then Hudler would just be to offset some salary and just a piece... They might even request both Kindl and Smith, in which case, that may scare me off...

Because they don't need even money back in deals in the NHL, so sign and trades make no sense, Eaves could just walk and sign wherever he wanted and the NHLPA would definitely have a problem with him agreeing to that... 3+ years makes sense, he's only 27 and is still not at his peak... he needs to be here long term.

Also, WPG hasn't come to terms with Bogosian, and there were the rumors there before the deadline, maybe Hudler, Kindl, and a 1st fetches you Bogo if WPG feels they can't re-sign him? Also, there are reports that Phx and Yandle can't come to terms and are very far away from a deal... maybe a similar package (and cheaper cap hit for 2 for 1) fetches you Yandle? There are other players too that I could see potentially being moved for cap, such as Martinek in NY?

This isn't the NBA and most GM's (including ours) aren't snakes like Wilson... sign and trades do not happen in the NHL...

This signing is such a bargain it's not even funny with the current market for FA's... I don't know how ANYONE could, ANYTHING but love this deal... I expect this contract to be an absolute steal by the end of it.....
