I think Eaves still has a lot more upside than Miller and I think could play a bigger role here in a couple years, if he just sticks with it... I know and that's what makes me so nervous about it... Agreed completely, I'm not ready to give up on Ericsson just yet either, but if I had to chose between Ericsson or Eaves(not that it's a fair comparison, or that relative either) I would take Eaves at this point... I personally wouldn't be opposed to Miller coming back either, but only if Eaves chooses not to...

This doesn't help us American viewers at all, actually makes it worse for us... at least my trade deadline party will be better, as it's a simulcast of TSN on NHL network...

Even to a lesser extent, just being in our system and playing with the likes of Kronwall and Stuart as welll... I still don't know how sure I am that he can turn it around, but at 1.5, I'll take that chance in a heartbeat!

I like Stewart too, but lets not make him out to be more than he is, this is the 2nd time that his team has elected to NOT qualify him and these are both teams that needed scorers... there may be more to him behind the scenes that we do not want (locker room cancer, partier, etc...) and ALSO, 39 points is his career high averaging 15 min a night... I wouldn't mind him coming here, but lets keep things in perspective...

Ericsson is rumored at 2.4, maybe less... Barker has never played here and that uncertainty is scary, so that's also a negative... 3m is too much for a guy that has looked very out of place in Min... also, there's no way he gets MORE after being bought out, if he were that valuable, they'd be able to trade him and wouldn't even consider buying him out and thus, taking part of his caphit... is there still potential there and would I take a chance on the guy, sure, but not at that tag.

Perfectly stated. Laich should be more in the 3-3.5m range, with 4m being the absolute ceiling... anything over that is an overpayment, simple as that.

I don't want him at 3m, 1.5-2 TOPS... I'd rather wait until he's bought out and make him an offer then if the brass is interested...

At his current contract, no. If he clears, they buy him out and is willing to come here at 1m or so, without a doubt.

There's very little in the forward group this year to get excited about, I like Cody McCormick, because he adds some nastiness, is very defensively responsible and kills penalties for the bottom six, as touched on in another thread, I think Anthony Stewart might not be a bad pickup either... Dupuis is a solid signing for that price tag, he's played very well in Pit and is one of the only players there that I like...
