For the record, the minor upgrade comment was not in regards to Ryan, it was to the posters attitude that Holland has done nothing, when minor upgrades have been all that have been available thus far... With that said, I have said and maintain that Ryan would be a great addition, but we haven't lost out on him and he's still an option, but let's see things play out first...

missing the net also leads to breaks going the other way quickly... it can be a lot more dangerous in some cases (short of firing it right off the shinguards and then being kicked back going the other way) With that said, Sammy misses the net just as much as Franzen AND fires it into chests, shins, asses, etc... quite frequently... he shoots, which is nice, as we have too many guys even reluctant to do that, I just wish he picked a little higher percentage shots before firing and also, KEPT HIS SHOT DOWN... With that said, BOTH of them need to have better years this year, than they did last year...

Wouldn't hate it, but I'd rather have Boumeester to be honest, even with his higher salary... His higher salary might actually work FOR us, as it would likely lower the return in a trade, and we could get him without giving up any big assets, that's one of the things I like the most about the potential of trading for JBo... We have the cap, he only has 2 years on the deal, so it's not an albatross, and like I said, probably low trade cost... For the right price, I hope this actually happens

Mark Fistric Re-signs with Dallas
stevkrause replied to Bring Back The Bruise Bros's topic in General
One year... That means UFA next year... I would love Fistric here.. -
you can't restructure contracts, not an option
-
Don't be a fool, it takes two parties to trade and you can't force your way into a trade, if the other team isn't willing to talk, it's not an option... neither is raining cash on a FA, until they "see things your way" this is not the pre-cap world... you don't cripple your team in the long term for a MINOR short term upgrade... stop being so short sighted...
-
As would I, but he would cost more in a trade, so it's not an apples to apples comparison and doesn't really apply here... If Girardi is available and can be had for the same package as they'd give for Bo, you make that deal without thinking twice... Agreed and I think he could realistically be had for something along the lines of Kindl, Emmerton (or Miller, or Mursak) and a 3rd It wouldn't be a very hefty package, you might even be able to get him for less than that, as you'd be taking on cap hit as well, which is what Calgary wants to dump...
-
even before Nash was off the table, I thought this was the better way to go via trade... I just don't see the Ducks dealing with us either and if they do, probably asking for too much... if he's an option though, I would like to see a strong push for Ryan
-
What does that have to do with the topic at hand? nothing.
-
and he's still good, don't get me wrong, but he's not the Kipper of old... their D was not the sole reason they didn't make the playoffs...
-
yea, because he hasn't been declining in recent years at all
-
I'd take Gio in a heartbeat, but no way Calgary parts with him...
-
Yea, it was their league 14th overall GA/G that cost them, not their league 24th GF/G
-
if that's the case, then you pull the trigger on this deal in a heartbeat and still have your blue chip assets to go out and make a hard push for Bobby Ryan... Or, even do a package and bring Iginla here as well in the deal, then you have your power forward as well...
-
I don't think he will either, because Calgary probably wants too much in return, so it may be a moot point, but it's that bold of a prediction, because I'm that confident that it would happen... He's had a VERY raw deal since he came into the league, with the s*** teams he's been on... he's not even in his prime yet, and it's not a mistake he was drafted as high as he was
-
Despite his poor +/-, he's at least on par defensively, maybe even a little better, and better offensively than Quincey... It's he 3m more better? Maybe not, but I think we'd all be very pleasantly surprised by Bo if he came here...
-
He can, and would, here... Florida, then Calgary... I think that's all that needs to be said... He would thrive in the Wings system, and I would put money on it, that if he came here, he would have better numbers next year than Suter...
-
As long as it didn't cost too much going the other way, I'd be all for it, just coming into his prime, he's been on horrible teams, and he'd thrive here, I'm convinced of it... Only 2 years on the contract too, so it wouldn't be too much to take on if it didn't work...
-
Doan loves the Phoenix area and wants to stay there, I'm becoming more convinced daily, that if that's not an option due to ownership, that he will sign with SJ or LA, if for no other reason, than the fact that it's not that far from where he will most certainly be keeping his off season home... I think he's going to end up in LA personally, just my gut feeling
-
http://www.mlive.com...itch_for_r.html Can we please put this to bed now? Also, those myopic posts about Holland not doing his job... Yea, you can't dance if you don't have a partner, no matter how much you try...

Flyers sign Weber to offer sheet: 14y/$110m ($56m 1st 4yrs)
stevkrause replied to a topic in General
That's about all they're going to be winning... I hope Rinne is prepared to face 50 shots a game... With all that said, I still think Nashville will ultimately match and keep Weber, there's too much to lose if they don't (and not just in the form of a player, but what it says to other FA, what it says about the market there, what it says about management/ownership and also, what it says about their commitment to winning) The money will be damn near crippling to them, but they don't have a choice... especially with the new CBA coming up, they may get some reprieve from his contract, not much, as a lot of it will be protected, but SOME... they may even work in the ability to trade a player immediately after a match of an OS is made in the new CBA, so who knows...- 469 replies

I'm not suggesting a trade next year, I'm suggesting matching, then trading, in this same off-season... If he doesn't want to be there, which all evidence suggests, as Nashville was apparently already in the process of a trade, it only makes sense to move him, and I'm sure they'll get more worth than 4 1st rd picks, so a "sign-and-trade" so to speak, makes sense in that scenario...- 469 replies
