Well now, we disagree, because I'm saying that his stats would indicate that he had a down year, whereas you're stating very clearly that he had a down year and thus his stats were affected... Also, you post-plagarizing son of a b!!

Former NBA players son on path to pros... in... NHL?!
stevkrause replied to stevkrause's topic in General
I took his comment to mean the comments on the article, unless I misinterpreted that... Agreed completely, you're missing my point... the point I was driving at, was that the quality of individual (regardless of race) in the NHL is much higher than that of the other sports... Also, can we PLEASE do away with all the PC bs, it only leads to more racial divide... we're a melting pot called America and Americans are Americans, that's it - no prefix. -
It just made me think of that Simpson's episode, not so much implying you didn't get it, so I thought I'd post it, because it made me chuckle, giggle and even guffaw a little thinking about it
-
ohhhh, I get it now, you're saying that his performance as a NHL goaltender last year could just have been an anomaly and does not reflect the constant
-
I'd be good with Theodore as well, Boucher seems a little volatile with his ups and downs and I'm not sure how much of a steadying force that'd be, but with that said, I wouldn't be opposed to him either, given the price tag was right... otherwise, short of a trade for a backup, there's not a lot out there in my mind...
-
Wait, so what you're getting at here is that he could have just been having a down year? on the other hand, I think he could have just been having a down year...
-
Fair enough - I just think that those numbers were helped out with their pretty good scoring up front and also, I think it's a bad sign that they even rolled 11 dmen, that's a lot of inconsistency on the back end... Anyways, I think we're splitting hairs here, I think we both agree that even if it was 100% on Conklin, that was one down year for a guy who has been an otherwise solid backup and at his caphit he would most likely garner, he'd be a good choice here for the backup role

no kidding, I don't even read the comment sections of articles like that, they seem to bring out the lowest, scrape of the barrel of society... I think it's great for the game that racial barriers aren't bogging it down anymore, you are seeing more and more black players make it up through the ranks and the beauty of it is, that (generally speaking - lets leave Emery out of this, haha) the black players that make it to the NHL are FAR better role models for young black kids than majority of the black players in the NBA and NFL... Two of my favorite young players in the game right now are Chris Stewart and Evander Kane and kids would be MUCH better served looking up to them, than a scumbag low life like Kobe Bryant or (insert Cincinnati Bengal here) -
and those very stats in your sig show why, although an amazing fighter and an enforcer in the way he handled things and stood up for teammates, Probert was by no means a one dimensional goon... in his prime, he was the toughest, true power forward in the game - not just a useless set of cement hands...

shoot for the stars! although, if I were you (not sure of your age, so I'm assuming you're younger) I'd hold out for a couple years until Yzerman's oldest is 18... either that, or go for one of Larionov's daughters, strictly on looks alone EDIT - Looks like you don't even have to wait that long, Yzerman's oldest will be 18 this upcoming Feb! -
Steven Wright: I finally got around to reading the dictionary. Turns out the zebra did it. [the entire audience, except Homer, laughs] Homer Simpson: I don't get it. Lisa Simpson: Dad, the zebra didn't do it, it's just a word at the end of the dictionary. Homer Simpson: I still don't get it. Lisa Simpson: It's just a joke. Homer Simpson: Oh, I get it! I get jokes!

mixed, his mom is white... agreed, if he's already 6'3 at 16, well.... them Gretzky's do it all... she's not too hard on the eyes either Can't blame the guy really, it was a sport he never really played, or knew... I'm not gonna lie, I realllly hope my boy doesn't gravitate towards basketball... -
That doesn't always equate to a good team in front of him... their defense was horrible...
-
lolz, roflcopter - Those looking at his past season should note that the defense in front of him was a bloody disaster. He'd be a backup, making a minimal salary (could probably be had for even less than I suggested) and he knows our system and a lot of the players... goaltenders are very funny breeds and their surroundings and mental state GREATLY affects their play on the ice and from the looks of things in St. Louis this past season, they didn't have a good thing going on, or off the ice... furthermore, it'd most likely only be a 1 or 2 year deal anyway...
-
Something about that situation just tells me that Carter may be the one causing more problems in the locker room, I could be completely wrong, but that is just a gut reaction...

that part made me laugh too -
I'd be good with that as well, I just try not to factor trades into the equation too often, as they're really hard to guess with how many variables come into play... Also, the market for FA wingers is pretty weak this year, so unless they trade for the rights to a RFA winger and then sign him, or trade outright for a winger in a package, I don't really see a lot of options out there to fill this role... but if they could land it, oh man...
-
look at that roster though - where else would you want to spend the money? that'd be a damn solid and balanced lineup, top to bottom.... unless one of Hudler or Fil are traded and a higher priced top 6 forward is brought in, I just don't see the sense in spending just to spend with what's available out there...
-
I think Carter is a more likely trade candidate for sure and may very well be the one moved, just my gut tells me that Richards is going to end up being the one moved when all is said and done... like you said though, someone is on the move for sure, it will be interesting to see how this plays out...
-
I hear Kelly Hrudy is a FA too...
-
ok, maybe piss poor is an overstatement, but they couldn't get over the hump with that model and that was in a time when the league was more designed for it, it makes even less sense to build to that model now...
-
Exactly - The reason Balsillie doesn't have an NHL franchise right now, is 100% personal
-
I really like a lot of his ideas, the only amendment I would like to see made is an attached, massive parking structure... also, he seems to have crammed the Foxtown area in too much, I'm pretty sure Mr. I owns more land back there than that and it could be spread out more, with more open area around it for the structure...
-
I think the only reason he won't, is I honestly believe that he's going to land one of the head coaching gigs available right now, maybe Ottawa even... if he doesn't get any offers to be a head coach, I wouldn't be surprised at all if he took an asst position and why not here! With that said, I honestly don't believe he will end up here either, but I'd be all for it, if it were to happen!
