Agreed 100% - His value cannot be tallied in simple points -
Zetteberg and Datsyuk no longer on the same line

I still don't know why Babs broke up Hudler-Datsyuk-Cleary, they only had a couple average games and he broke them up... I'm going to go rare "line thread" post on this one, but this is what I really want to see: Hudler-Datsyuk-Cleary Bertuzzi-Zetterberg-Franzen Modano-Filppula-Holmstrom Draper-Helm-Abdelkader Lidstrom-Stuart Kronwall-Rafalski Ericsson-Salei -
better yet... "Here would have lied Pavel Datsyuk, but Death tried to catch him and is still trying to find his jockstrap from the deke he threw on him"

Have you been watching the same games???? Kindl has been HORRIBLE the last 4 games and almost single handedly gave Phoenix the comeback win... -
First the Mounties comment in the Air Canada thread and now this... you sir, are on your game today!
-
hahahahahah, awesome! The thought of Mounties on horses, patrolling the ice, just made me audibly laugh, or "LOL" if you will! my thought as well
-
This is one of the most salient posts in the last few pages. Well put on all accounts!
-
This board is downright laughable at times...
-
A Director of Marketing acting like a pissed off fan and pulling the "I'm going to take my toys and leave" response... awesome... With that said, the league needs to address a LOT about game integrity and safety and maybe this will be good in the long run for Air Canada to essentially throw a tantrum, due to the weight they hold, and maybe it will actually open some eyes, but it's motive is off base and seems very reactionary to the Pacioretty hit... Ends justify the means though maybe?
-
Here lies The Captain... no other name is needed.
-
I know you're just playing Devil's Advocate, but if it were Cooke, his reputation would imply intent, whereas Chara, although physical, has never been a dirty player and lets up a LOT on hits where he could probably quite literally kill someone... apples to oranges... I also audibly laughed at that reply
-
With how fast the game moves (for the record, for how fast it seems to move on TV, multiply that by 1000 and MAYBE that's about as fast as it actually happens on the ice), there is NO WAY it even processed in his head where they were in relation to the stanchion... all it was, was a rub out, with an unfortunate result and the over-reaction to an injury is off-base... Ding. Ding. Ding.
-
It was a pretty brutal impact and hopefully Pacioretty makes a speedy recovery! It's tough, because had that been anywhere else on the ice, he probably wouldn't have even been hurt, as he would have rolled off and into the glass... I don't think this is suspension worthy AT ALL and just a VERY unfortunate event, basically wrong time, wrong place... I think what needs to be looked into more, is the "padding" on the ends of the glass... the protection level is downright laughable and they're basically like the "padding" they used to use in gym glass, where someone would fall 2 feet off the rope and damn near break their tailbone... with all the impact absorbent foams and technology we have, you would think they would have a better solution in PROFESSIONAL sports arenas by now...
-
People like him do not belong in the game. 10 games.
-
That's a disgrace...
-
Put a smile on my face
-
I am beyond perplexed by their moves thus far...
-
wow, good job, a poll that actually requires some thought! This is a tough one and obviously all of the players listed would be amazing here, but I chose Nash due to his work ethic and what he could do on this team, I think a puck possession style would REALLY benefit him and I think his skill is a little wasted in Columbus... with that said, I think Lecavalier would be a close second, although, as someone else touched on, Stamkos would fit even better...
-
lets not let facts get in the way... last 25 games: 5G 18A 23PTS +8
-
ugh, out at least a week - http://www.mlive.com/redwings/index.ssf/2011/02/red_wings_patrick_eaves_out_at.html Doesn't sound good for Eaves
-
That's the way I'm looking at it, would I scoff at him coming here as a FA try-out? Not one bit... but to take on a contract, or sign him as a FA... no thanks.
-
I never remember hearing anything negative about Cleary's work ethic, it was always just that he was expected to be more than he was... I'm not saying Zherdev would never work here, or couldn't turn it around, I just don't see it in him... EDIT - Side note, I thought Zherdev was older than he is... maybe he is still just finding his place and just needs a good kick in the butt from some solid leadership?
-
oh, I agree completely and the venue alone is NOWHERE near enough reason to go to a game and the product on the ice is MUCH more important than the venue they are in, but that does not absolve the arena of its short comings, much like the fact (although in a lesser capacity) that an amazing venue does not absolve a horrible team of its shortcomings on the "field"(ie. Ford Field and the Detroit Lions until this past season)
-
That probably has a good deal to do with it too, maybe I'm just burnt out on the short comings because I have been to so many games there and the little annoyances build up over time... like a relationship, when you overlook the little annoyances in the beginning, but over time, that chewing on the fingernails, or twirling of the hair that you once found cute, now becomes like nails on the chalkboard... maybe the Joe and I just need couples counseling, haha

Those types of players do not fit in here.
